Hull City to win

Monday’s Championship game is set to have repercussions near both the top and bottom ends of the table, as Hull City and Coventry City start the first of their last four games of the regular season.

The Tigers sit precariously just above the relegation zone, with just two points between themselves and Cardiff City in 22nd place.

Coventry have been stumbling in recent weeks, but Frank Lampard’s side are clinging to sixth spot on 62 points, with West Brom, Middlesbrough and Millwall all hot on their heels on 60.

Team news

Starting with the home side, Mohamed Belloumi, Dogukan Sinik, Liam Millar, Louie Barry and Eliot Matazo are all set to miss out on Monday's game due to injuries.

As for Coventry, first-choice goalkeeper Oliver Nnonyelu Dovin is absent, so Bradley Collins is likely to start between the sticks.

Midfielders Josh Eccles and Victor Trop, along with striker Brandon Thomas-Asante, are also sidelined for the trip to East Yorkshire.

The stats

Coventry go into this game having lost their last two away games in the Championship, against Derby County and Sheffield United.

Hull have lost just two of their last seven league games, as they bid to avoid the drop down to League One.

The Tigers have lost one of their last four home games, losing to Luton, alongside wins over Oxford and Plymouth and a draw with Norwich.

Prediction

Having lost three of their last five games in the Championship, Coventry are struggling for consistency at a crucial time in the season.

With play-off hopes hanging in the balance and pressure mounting from fans, the Sky Blues desperately need to find form.

Their inability to string together solid performances has raised serious questions about their mentality and squad depth, especially as the regular season reaches its climax.

MKM Stadium has not been a happy hunting ground for the Sky Blues in the last couple of years and, given their recent away woes, Coventry might well leave Hull empty-handed.

The Tigers are battling hard for their Championship survival and, having won two of their last three games at MKM Stadium, the hsost are good value to add to Coventry’s woes on the road on Monday night.
