Manchester City manager Gareth Taylor believes there are still areas his team can improve on as they prepare to face Everton in the Women's Super League.

City’s impressive campaign sees them tied on 34 points at the top of the table with Chelsea after beating the Blues 1-0 prior to the international break.

Victory extended City’s winning run to 11 games in all competitions, but Taylor insists there is still room for improvement ahead of a busy period which sees his team also play in the Conti Cup and FA Cup.

He said: "The Chelsea game feels like a long time ago now having had the international break, a chance to recharge the batteries for some, for others a tough international period.

"When you look back over those games we still know we can improve in a lot of areas.

"I think that’s a good thing, it's a healthy thing that each player wants to get better, wants to improve, that we want to get better and improve.

"But of course when you look at the run we're on with 11 consecutive wins, it’s been a really impressive effort from everyone in the team."

City have beaten Everton twice this season, in the WSL and League Cup, and boss Brian Sorensen knows a tough test lies ahead.

"We love these games," the Danish manager said. "I love playing against City because it's a team that wants to play football.

"They want to press us and that’s what we’re really trying to do, is be good at playing against that.

"I'm really looking forward to it. Of course [City] are massive favourites, as it should be, but we’ll go out there and do our best."
