Daniel Dubois to win & score 1+ knockdowns

Daniel Dubois and Filip Hrgovic clash as part of the 5 vs 5 card in Saudi Arabia on Saturday in an intriguing heavyweight match-up.

There was speculation the IBF title could be on the line in this bout but as it stands that title remains with Oleksandr Usyk.

Hrgovic is the mandatory challenger, and the winner of this clash may get a chance to challenge for that title in their next assignment if it becomes vacant.

Dubois has been in a world title fight before but lost via TKO to Usyk, while Hrgovic will take an unbeaten record into the ring having registered 17 wins in as many flights, 14 of which have come inside the distance.

The stats

Daniel Dubois has four wins in his last five fights, suffering one defeat to Usyk.

Both of Dubois’ losses in his career have been late stoppages.

Filip Hrgovic’s biggest win came against Zhilei Zhang in August 2022.

Hrgovic has fought just twice since beating Zhang.

Prediction

Filip Hrgovic boasts an unbeaten record and is an understandable favourite going into Saturday night's heavyweight fight
Filip Hrgovic boasts an unbeaten record and is an understandable favourite going into Saturday night's heavyweight fight

Hrgovic can perhaps count himself unlucky not to have been involved in a world title fight yet after putting together a 17-0 record but he may get his chance next if he can overcome the challenge of Dubois.

Dubois himself is looking to work his way back into title contention after defeat to Usyk.

The Briton had to embark on a bit of a rebuild after seeing his unbeaten record ended by compatriot Joe Joyce back in 2022 and that has largely been a success, as he picked up three wins before his loss to the Ukrainian and was last seen stopping American Jarrell Miller in the final round of their 10-round contest.

Indeed, Dubois came out of that loss to Usyk with plenty of credit after appearing to score a knockdown — only for the bodyshot to be deemed a low blow.

Hrgovic is the clear favourite at 21/50 with LiveScore Bet and probably deservedly so, despite the fact he has campaigned lightly since a career-best win over Zhilei Zhang with just two fights in the last two years.

The Croatian is the technically superior fighter here and has a height and reach advantage, but Dubois has a chance and looks a backable 37/20 underdog with LiveScore Bet.

Dubois enjoyed some success against Usyk and Hrgovic is clearly a far easier target to hit.

The Briton also carries plenty of power with 19 of his 22 wins coming inside the distance, and he potentially represents Hrgovic’s biggest test to date.

Taking a chance on Dubois looks the value play here, and as Dynamite will probably need a stoppage or a few knockdowns to get the victory the PRICE BOOST on a Dubois win with 1+ knockdowns has plenty of appeal.
