Leicester take a break from their promotion push this weekend as they head to Chelsea in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

The Foxes shocked Bournemouth away in the last round and now they will hope to claim their biggest scalp of the competition so far.

Chelsea know they are just 90 minutes from a return to Wembley as they look to make amends for their Carabao Cup final defeat. While this has been a troubled season for the Blues, they have still shown some signs of progress in the cups.

Team news

Former Leicester players Ben Chilwell and Wesley Fofana will miss out for Chelsea this weekend, who are facing something of an injury crisis at the back.

They will also be without Reece James, Levi Colwill and Benoit Badiashile, meaning they have lost arguably their five first-choice defenders.

Chelsea also remain without Romeo Lavia and Lesley Ugochukwu in midfield and Christopher Nkunku is also ruled out.

Leicester will be without Wilfried Ndidi heading into this one, while they will hand late fitness tests to Dennis Praet and Ricardo Pereira.

The stats

The Blues have scored 15 goals across four home meetings with Championship sides this term.

Leicester’s closest challengers in the Championship, Leeds, scored twice in a 3-2 loss at Stamford Bridge in the last round.

The Foxes have conceded two goals in four of their last six matches.

Leicester were eliminated from the Carabao Cup with a 3-1 defeat at Anfield.

Chelsea have seen both teams score in eight of their last nine matches.

The hosts' last five victories have each seen at least four goals.

Prediction

While this quarter-final is not taking top billing this weekend, it is one of the most interesting matches at this stage of the competition.

The Blues remain in mid-table in the Premier League, but they have picked up a little form at home of late.

Leicester head into this weekend top of the Championship, but they are going through a bit of a wobble.

They have won once across their last five in the league, drawing 2-2 at Hull in their last game. The Foxes have conceded two or more in four of their last five in the Championship, so it is hard to see them holding the Blues at bay.

The hosts have seen at least four goals in each of their last three games, while they have been fortunate by landing plenty of Championship sides in the cups this term.

Chelsea have scored 15 times across four home ties with second-tier teams, edging out Leicester’s closest challengers Leeds 3-2 in the last round.

The hosts come into this game with their last five home matches seeing 23 goals scored, so over 3.5 looks like the standout bet.
