The final two matches of the Nations League may well steal the focus for some but there are a host of European World Cup qualifiers taking place, including Czech Republic hosting Montenegro.

Belgium travel to North Macedonia, Gibraltar entertain Croatia and Italy make the trip to Norway and those matches feature in our four best bets for the qualifying action.

The Czech Republic have been in solid form recently and should be able to continue their good run when they host Montenegro.

The home side have won five of their last seven matches, including victories over Ukraine, Georgia and Albania, and should be able to win to nil against a Montenegro side, who have been poor on the road.

The Brave Eagles have lost their last six away trips and before a current three-game winning streak — with all three wins at home — had lost seven in a row, failing to score on five of those occasions.

The Czech Republic have had a solid start to qualifying and can warm up for their crucial clash against Croatia with a comfortable victory on home soil.

Belgium are not the force of old and they cannot underestimate North Macedonia in the pair’s qualifying clash on Friday.

Life has been tough recently for the Red Devils, losing five of their last seven outings, while North Macedonia are unbeaten in their last eight games.

The Lynxes have also scored in their last 12 matches and are fancied to continue that run against a creaking Belgian back line. Take both teams to find the net in this one.

Ivan Perisic may have left it too late to catch Davor Suker as Croatia’s all-time top scorer but he recently moved past Mario Mandzukic for sole ownership of second place in those rankings and looks a tempting price to add another goal against Gibraltar.

The veteran ended the season in fine goalscoring form for club side PSV, netting six times in his last five Eredivise outings, and he could get another goal for his national team against Gibraltar, who have conceded seven goals in their first two World Cup qualifiers.

Norway have been involved in plenty of high-scoring affairs recently and another one looks likely when they host Italy.

The hosts’ last seven games have produced 33 goals, an average of over four per game, and considering Italy’s defensive injuries, this could be another entertaining clash.

Both teams have scored in seven of the Azzurri’s last eight outings so side with this pair to both play their part in a heavy scoring battle in Oslo.
