Day six at Wimbledon sees Jannik Sinner, Novak Djokovic, Mirra Andreeva and Iga Swiatek headlining the action on the grass courts in south-west London.

But the best bets of the day may be found in matches that do not feature the higher-ranked seeds and punters should not be afraid to venture away from the madding crowds in search of better value.

Flavio Cobolli vs Jakub Mensik

Jakub Mensik served notice that he could prosper at Wimbledon this year by beating Jack Draper, Taylor Fritz and Novak Djokovic on the way to lifting the Miami Masters trophy in March.

And while Mensik was given a true test of his credentials by the tenacious Marcos Giron in round two on Thursday, the Czech 19-year-old did well to dig deep and stay in control after the pair shared the first two sets.

Flavio Cobolli has won his first two main-tour titles in 2025, going all the way in Bucharest and Hamburg clay events, but while the Italian is improving he is unlikely to have sufficient physical strength to deny Mensik.

Marin Cilic vs Jaume Munar

Jaume Munar has done well to beat Alexander Bublik and Fabian Marozsan at Wimbledon this year, but Marin Cilic looked a rejuvenated figure in the course of despatching his second-round opponent Jack Draper, who was seeded fourth, in four sets.

Cilic, US Open champion in 2014 and a losing Wimbledon finalist in 2017, is one of the best players never to have won the London major, so he could be a threat to anyone in the coming days.

Barbora Krejcikova vs Emma Navarro

Emma Navarro has cruised into the last 32 at Wimbledon, dropping a total of only seven games in victories over Petra Kvitova and Veronika Kudermetova.

The American is clearly comfortable on grass, but whether she yet possesses the court nous of her third-round opponent, defending champion Barbora Krejcikova, is open to question.

Having returned from a six-month injury lay-off in May, Krejcikova is quite happy to stay on court for three sets in a bid to improve her fitness.

And the outsider looks quite capable of winning at least a set against Navarro.

Zeynep Sonmez vs Ekaterina Alexandrova

Zeynep Sonmez surprised Xinyu Wang 7-5 7-5 in the last 64 but the Turk’s fun may end against Ekaterina Alexandrova, who has been in fine nick in the first half of the year.

Alexandrova’s only title in 2025 came on the indoor courts in Linz, but the 18th seed at Wimbledon looked impressive when allowing the useful Suzan Lamens only four games in her last singles outing.

This could be one-way traffic when the favourite gets into gear, so back Alexandrova for a comfortable win.
