Tuesday's Champions League qualifying predictions: Qarabag and Sparta to cruise through
- There are seven Champions League second-round qualifiers on Tuesday
- Recommended bets:
- Qarabag to win to zero
- Sparta Prague to win 3-0
Qualifying for the 2024-25 Champions League continues on Tuesday with seven second-round ties being completed with the second legs.
Qarabag vs Lincoln Red Imps (Tuesday, 5pm)
The stats
Gibraltan side Lincoln Red Imps knocked out Maltese opponents Hamrun Spartans in the first qualifying round, advancing on penalties after the tie had ended 1-1 on aggregate.
Qarabag are the Azerbaijan champions and progressed to the last-16 in last term's Europa League, going out to eventual finalists Bayer Leverkusen 5-4 on aggregate.
Prediction
The first leg between the two sides ended 2-0 to Qarabag in Gibraltar but it probably should have been a bigger margin of victory as the visitors, who are much more experienced in Europe, won the shot count 13-3.
Qarabag largely dominated away from home and they should further underline their superiority in the home fixture.
Lincoln do not look capable of troubling the Azerbaijan outfit's defence too much in the second leg and another Qarabag win to zero is expected as they eye a smooth passage to the third qualifying round.
Sparta Prague vs Shamrock Rovers (Tuesday, 6pm)
The stats
Sparta Prague are the reigning Czech champions and have begun this season well, winning their first two league games.
Sparta reached the last 16 in the Europa League last season before losing to Liverpool 11-2 on aggregate.
Shamrock Rovers are the current Irish champions, winning their fourth consecutive League Of Ireland title in 2023.
However, Rovers are down in fifth pace in the table this season, seven points behind leaders Shelbourne after playing 23 matches.
Prediction
The first leg ended 2-0 to Sparta as Shamrock Rovers struggled to make much of an impact against an assured Sparta outfit at the Tallaght Stadium.
Goals in each half from Veljko Birmanevic and Tomas Wiesner were enough for the Czech side to take control of the tie and they look set to extend their advantage in the return game at home.
Sparta made it two wins from two in the Czech top flight at the weekend with a 4-1 victory at Teplice and they should maintain their impressive early-season winning form with another comfortable victory over Rovers.
Shamrock have been struggling for goals in recent weeks and have failed to find the back of the net in four of their last six matches in all competitions, which will be a big concern to boss Stephen Bradley for the trip to Prague.
The hosts are overwhelming favourites to win the second leg so, for more value, a 3-0 correct score appeals at 6/1 with LiveScore Bet as Sparta should cruise into the third qualifying round.
