Bayern Munich believe Kingsley Coman will stay in Germany despite interest from Liverpool

Bayern Munich remain confident of keeping Kingsley Coman — despite interest from Liverpool.

Coman, 25, is yet to sign a contract extension at the German champions with the Merseysiders circling.

Jurgen Klopp is keen to add more potency to his forward line at Anfield after the Reds' famous front three failed to fire last season.

But new Bayern CEO and Germany legend Oliver Khan believes both Coman and midfield powerhouse Leon Goretzka, who has been linked with a move to the Premier League before, will both stay.

“We're in talks with Goretzka and Coman," he said. "Absolute top players want to be paid accordingly, we're not naive about that. That's perfectly fine. With us, there is a limit, which is very clearly defined.

"With [David] Alaba, you saw that at a certain point, we were no longer willing to go further. We don't push into salary regions that don't suit FC Bayern.

"We are in very, very good talks with both players. I am optimistic. We have a great package to offer here.

"They always have the chance to win big titles with us and can help shape an era."

United’s double swoop

After securing a deal for Jadon Sancho, Manchester United are ready to splash £75million on Raphael Varane and Eduardo Camavinga.

Boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is being heavily backed in the transfer market as United look to close the gap on Manchester City at the top.

Varane, 28, has one year remaining on his contract at Real Madrid and Spanish outlet Marca say he would be open to moving elsewhere.

If Real can secure a large fee for the World Cup winner, their financial situation means they would be happy to cash in.

Teenager Camavinga, meanwhile, is one of the most sought-after youngsters in Europe after starring for Lille in their Ligue 1 title-winning campaign.

Though his current club set a £60m asking price previously, the 18-year-old’s deal runs out next summer and the French outfit will want to avoid losing him for nothing.
