- Swansea have lost four of their last five home games
- Cardiff are on a four-match winning streak
- Recommended bet: Cardiff to Win

Bitter rivals Swansea and Cardiff meet in the early kick-off on Saturday, both sides with very different ambitions.

The Swans are being sucked into a relegation fight after losing six of their last ten. Cardiff, on the other hand, have won four in a row to emerge as a genuine play-off contender.

Luke Williams’ Swans are a 19/20 with LiveScore Bet chance with the visiting Bluebirds available at 13/5. The draw - and there hasn’t been one in their past seven meetings, or at Swansea since 2008 - is an 11/5 shot.

Team news

Josh Key could make his first start for three months on the right side of Williams’ 4-2-3-1 set-up. Jamal Lowe, who hasn’t started for six weeks, is also fit to challenge Liam Cullen for the striker’s role.

Callum O’Dowda will be pushing for his first start since August after his match-winning heroics off the bench against Ipswich.

Striker Callum Robinson is available again after two months out with an illness and veteran ex-Wales skipper Aaron Ramsey is also an option after a month on the sidelines.

The stats

Swansea have won fewer points at home (20) than they have away (23).

They have failed to win nine of 13 matches since Williams was appointed manager.

Cardiff are undefeated in five matches and have won four league games in a row. Their last nine wins have all been by one goal margins.

None of the last seven and only one of the last 15 South Wales derbies has ended in a draw.

Prediction

Erol Bulut’s men were 2-0 winners when these rivals met at the Cardiff City Stadium in September, and the Bluebirds can land the double over Swansea for the first time ever.

Cardiff head along the M4 to the Swansea.com Stadium in searingly good nick having won four in a row, culminating in last weekend’s astonishing 2-1 win over Ipswich secured by two goals in added time.

This run has got them into the play-off picture though arguably with too many good sides above them to be realistic challengers.

Swansea, in contrast, are struggling and were awful last weekend in a 1-0 defeat at Bristol City, a team who were themselves on a four-game losing streak going into that match.

Cardiff have won more games away than Swansea have at home and Bulut, a man who played and managed in a fair few Istanbul derbies in his time at Fenerbahce, is just the man to guide his flying side through a high-stakes fixture.
