Brendan Rodgers' Celtic bounced back in fine style with a 5-1 drubbing of Aberdeen in midweek
Brendan Rodgers' Celtic bounced back in fine style with a 5-1 drubbing of Aberdeen in midweek

- Celtic's advantage at the top remains at 13 points after the midweek fixtures
- Rangers won their first game under interim manager Barry Ferguson against Kilmarnock
- Dundee have lost five games in a row in the league

Celtic's lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership table is still 13 points after the Hoops and rivals Rangers recorded massive wins in midweek.

Brendan Rodgers' side beat Aberdeen 5-1 on Tuesday, while Rangers came from behind to beat Kilmarnock 4-2 away from home.

Both teams are in action on Saturday with the Gers hosting Motherwell and Celtic travelling to St Mirren.

Dundee vs St Johnstone (Saturday, 3pm)

After some improved results around the turn of the year, Dundee have now fallen back down the Premiership table.

Five consecutive defeats have put Tony Docherty under immense pressure, but the Dee are only four points behind 10th-placed Kilmarnock.

The Dark Blues take on St Johnstone this weekend, the only team below them in the table. Sadly for the hosts, the Saints have won three in five in the league and can take all three points.

Score prediction: Dundee 1-2 St Johnstone

Rangers vs Motherwell (Saturday, 3pm)

Barry Ferguson's interim tenure at Rangers started with a win in midweek and his team can make it two from two against Motherwell.

Rangers have not struggled for goals this season, having netted 58 times in 28 matches, and they face a Motherwell team that have only won one of their last eight games in all competitions.

Score prediction: Rangers 3-0 Motherwell

Ross County vs Kilmarnock (Saturday, 3pm)

Both Ross County and Kilmarnock are nervously looking over their shoulder as they prepare to meet at the Global Energy Stadium.

The hosts are ninth, only one place and one point better off than their opponents, but neither team look capable of winning this game.

Ross County have won once at home in six games, while Kilmarnock last won away in October.

Score prediction: Ross County 1-1 Kilmarnock

St Mirren vs Celtic (Saturday, 5.30pm)

Celtic returned to winning ways against Aberdeen in midweek, with the Hoops scoring five times on home soil.

St Mirren have lost the last seven head-to-head meetings and that record should not improve this week.

Both teams have scored in four of Celtic's last five, so the hosts may get some joy in front of goal, but the champions have scored 82 times in 28 games and should outclass Stephen Robinson's men.

Score prediction: St Mirren 1-3 Celtic

Hibernian vs Hearts (Sunday, 12.30pm)

Neil Critchley's Hearts have lost just one of their last 11 games going into Sunday's Edinburgh derby
Neil Critchley's Hearts have lost just one of their last 11 games going into Sunday's Edinburgh derby

The latest Edinburgh derby should be a cracker as Hibs host Hearts on the back of a 14-match unbeaten run.

Hearts themselves are in great form, losing only one of their last 11 games, and this could be a cracking encounter on Sunday.

Score prediction: Hibernian 2-2 Hearts

Aberdeen vs Dundee United (Sunday, 3pm)

Home advantage at Pittodrie should be crucial for Aberdeen as they host Dundee United on Sunday.

The Dons have won three in four in all competitions, while their home form in the league is only bettered by Celtic and Rangers.

Dundee United have only won one of their last six and two of their previous nine in all competitions and it is hard to look past that form.

Score prediction: Aberdeen 2-0 Dundee United
