Ascot's card is a big part of Saturday's high-quality action

It is another belter of Saturday afternoon racing action in Britain with the Group 1 King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes at Ascot the main dish.

York is among the supporting cast, where the Group 2 Sky Bet York Stakes is the highlight.

We have picked out five horses to follow.

1.50pm Ascot - Princess Margaret Keeneland Stakes (Fillies' Group 3, 6f)

The standard is set by System and Desert Dreamer, who finished first and second in the Group 2 Duchess of Cambridge Stakes at Newmarket four weeks ago.

They are major factors again but perhaps NYMPHADORA will prove more suited upped to 6f now.

She was a York Listed winner over 5f in May and did not quite have the raw speed here in last month's Queen Mary Stakes.

She has more to give at this new distance.

LiveScore Selection: Nymphadora

2.40pm York - Sky Bet Dash Handicap (6f)

Muscika was second in this in 2019 and went one better 12 months ago — David O'Meara's gelding should be primed for another cut at the prize.

Mondammej was a Pontefract winner in the spring over 5f and has excellent efforts at Epsom in the Dash and at Ascot more recently in his catalogue since. He is up another 3lb, however.

Three-time AW winner STREAMLINE was placed in Listed company over 5f here last summer in one of only two turf starts.

He is potentially still progressing and should be all the sharper for a spin around Newcastle four weeks ago, his only start since March.

LiveScore Selection: Streamline

3pm Ascot - Moet & Chandon International Stakes (Heritage Handicap, 7f)

A field of 22 declared for this handicap and Bunbury Cup winner Motakhayyel should be spearheading things considering the ease with which that Newmarket win arrived.

He is a C&D winner too and has lots going for him.

The consistent Danyah and Matthew Flinders are other possibles but Jonny Peate takes 7lb off the bottom-weight STARSHIBA and he has been threatening to score from this mark of late over this distance.

If first-time headgear, allied to the claim, are positives, they could be in the mix.

LiveScore Selection: Starshiba

3.15pm York - Sky Bet York Stakes (Group 2, 1m2½f)

Mohaafeth takes on older rivals as he looks to build on Hampton Court win
Mohaafeth takes on older rivals as he looks to build on Hampton Court win

Juan Elcano came hard and late to defy the much-touted Patrick Sarsfield in the Wolferton at Royal Ascot last month.

He was also placed in the Dante over C&D 12 months ago and needs respecting, for all this is tougher.

Armory was a convincing winner in this grade at Chester in May for Aidan O'Brien and ran well in third since behind star filly Love at Royal Ascot.

He is the proven Group 1 horse but MOHAAFETH looks to be heading in that same direction.

The Frankel colt won the Hampton Court at Ascot last time, making it 4-4 on the season, and William Haggas' rising star gets a healthy allowance from all of these older rivals.

LiveScore Selection: Mohaafeth

3.35pm Ascot - King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes (Group 1, 1m4f)

Lone Eagle is looking to go one better than in the Irish Derby
Lone Eagle is looking to go one better than in the Irish Derby

Will star filly Love inherit the crown from Enable for the ladies or can something dent her impressive sequence since she bagged two Classics last season?

She is the one to beat among the older brigade, though Mishriff should not be crossed off having run too keenly in the Eclipse recently.

That said, the pair of 3YOs are massive dangers.

Adayar won the Derby at Epsom under a superb ride from Adam Kirby, despite stablemate Hurricane Lane being the more fancied Charlie Appleby runner.

He, of course, has won the Irish Derby and a Group 1 in France since.

He only just foiled LONE EAGLE at the Curragh, with Frankie Dettori having made a bold bid to pinch the race in front.

The Italian stays on board now and Martyn Meade's challenger can have a big say here.

LiveScore Selection: Lone Eagle
