Nottingham Forest vs Wolves predictions: Draw likely at the City Ground

All four of the 3pm kick-offs in the Premier League on Saturday feature a team in the relegation battle and Nottingham Forest are the outfit most in need of points when they host Wolves.

Neither side has been in great form in recent weeks but, while it is understandable for Wolves to have eased off the gas as they head towards a mid-table finish, Forest are still struggling to collect points despite being in the thick of the relegation battle.

Team news

Forest are still without Taiwo Awoniyi, Nuno Tavares and Willy Boly due to injury and are likely to field a side similar to the one that faced Tottenham in their last match.

Pedro Neto and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde remain sidelined for Wolves, while Hwang Hee-Chan and Rayan Ait-Nouri are also injury doubts.

None of Wolves' last eight league games has featured more than three goals and they have kept only one clean sheet in their last 10 matches.

Both teams have scored in Nottingham Forest's last four Premier League games and they have conceded the first goal in eight of their last 11 matches.

Half of Wolves' 12 wins this season have been 2-1 victories.

Prediction

Wins have been hard to come by for both Forest and Wolves over the last month and it's possible that neither team will secure one when they meet on Saturday afternoon either.

Forest have the much more urgent need for the points as they are dangling precariously on the edge of the relegation zone with only a goal-difference advantage keeping them above Luton in 18th place.

That need for points has not translated into an ability to acquire them, though, and odds of 11/10 for a home win seem extremely short considering that Forest have won just two of their last 17 games in all competitions.

One of those victories was a 3-1 success against Fulham in their last home game which may have some Forest fans believing again, but while they made a promising start at Spurs last time out their effort petered out in a 3-1 defeat.

Wolves have been going through their weakest spell of the season with only one win in their last six games which includes an FA Cup defeat to Championship side Coventry, although they were controversially denied a late equaliser in their 2-1 home defeat by West Ham last week.

The visitors are certainly lacking firepower at the moment after injuries to Pedro Neto, Bellegarde and Hwang and even Ait-Nouri, who had been showing promise in a more advanced role, is also an injury doubt for this game.

With the stakes so high for Forest and Wolves determined to stop the rot before the end of the season, this should be a hard-fought contest, probably not featuring many goals, as none of Wolves' last eight league games has had more than three.
