- Leeds are third, a point behind leaders Leicester
- Blackburn are 18th, three points clear of relegation zone
- Recommended bet:
Leeds to win to zero

Leeds United should return to winning ways and keep their promotion hopes alive with a comfortable home victory over struggling Blackburn.

The Whites are third going into the weekend's games, a point behind both Ipswich and Leicester above them, after Tuesday's frustrating 0-0 draw with Sunderland at Elland Road.

That stalemate came on the back of an untimely 2-1 defeat at Coventry last weekend so it is vital Daniel Farke's men pick up all three points against Rovers, who remain in the relegation scrap at the bottom end of the table.

Team news

Leeds star Stuart Dallas this week sadly announced he has been forced to retire from football due to the knee injury he sustained against Manchester City in 2022.

Darko Gyabi and Pascal Struijk are still on the injury list for the hosts, while Jamie Shackleton also remains out.

Blackburn will hope Semir Telalovic is available after recovering from the illness which kept him out of the 5-0 defeat at Bristol City, but Yasin Ayari, Ryan Hedges, Arnor Sigurdsson, Harry Leonard and John Fleck are all still out injured for the visitors.

The stats

Leeds are the only side in the Championship who have not lost at home yet this season.

Farke's side have won six of their last 11 league games at Elland Road to zero and in total have recorded 10 clean sheets at home across the campaign.

Blackburn have failed to score in four of their last five matches.

Leeds won the reverse fixture at Ewood Park 2-0 in December.

Prediction

Leeds will have been relieved that title rivals Leicester and Ipswich both also dropped points in midweek, the Foxes going down 1-0 at Millwall while Ipswich were held to a goalless draw by Watford.

The Whites will now be desperate get back on track at home to Blackburn to stay in the hunt at the top and they should deliver in the lunchtime kick-off.

Leeds have the best home record in the division with 16 wins, five draws and no defeats so far at Elland Road and Tuesday's draw with Sunderland ended a run of nine straight home league victories.

Aside from a shock 5-1 win at Sunderland at the start of the month, Blackburn have been in poor form under John Eustace and morale will be low in the visitors' camp after they were hammered 5-0 at Bristol City on Wednesday.

Leeds have only conceded three goals in their last 10 league matches at home and they look set to secure an important victory alongside another clean sheet this weekend.
