LiveScore Racing Preview: Doncaster, November 27, 2021

It's a busy Saturday afternoon of racing with six meetings scheduled to take place across the UK and Ireland. 

One of those is Doncaster (12.05pm-3.28pm) and there are seven races on the card from Town Moor. The official going is described as 'Good', 'Good to Soft' in places. 

Here are our five horses to follow. 

12.05pm - Virgin Bet Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Chase (3m2f)

VINTAGE GLEN is still a maiden following 13 starts but he came very close to a first success on his latest appearance at Kelso (2m7½f). The nine-year-old finished second of 12 and was staying on well in the closing stages of that race.

Rose Dobbin's runner has gone up just 2lb and remains off a mark which gives him a good chance of recording his first win.

12.35pm - Virgin Bet Novices' Hurdle (2m½f)

Neil Mulholland's gelding BRIEF TIMES is unbeaten under Rules, with two victories from two starts. He prevailed on his hurdles debut at Exeter over their extended 2m trip. 

The five-year-old made all the running in that race but jumped poorly throughout. With some cleaner jumping this time, the task will be made easier. He sets the standard in this race and he could take some catching if he sets the pace again.

1.08pm - Virgin Bet Mares' Novices' Hurdle (2m3½f)

Bumper winner KARLIE scored on her hurdles debut at Exeter (2m½f). She was unable to follow up from that success on her next start at Newbury. Under a penalty, she had to settle for fourth place of five runners. 

The slow pace of that race did not suit her so connections will be hoping for more this time around. 

Michael Scudamore's runner will need to concede weight again to her rivals, however, her rider Luca Morgan is able to claim 5lb off her back. That is going to prove very useful and will put her in with a great chance of a second victory this season.

1.43pm - Virgin Bet Handicap Hurdle (2m½f)

GORDON'S JET produced a career-best performance on his latest outing at Sedgefield (2m4f). He blew the field away by an impressive 10 lengths. 

The handicapper has pushed him up 9lb in the official ratings following that success. Brian Ellison's runner looks like he will continue to improve so he can defy that rise in the weights. 

He is dropping down in trip but he has won over 2m before.

2.53pm - Virgin Bet 'Junior' National Hunt Flat Race (1m5f)

Connections of LE FILS DE FORCE will have been pleased with the start their horse made to his career when he came home third of 15 runners in a bumper at Market Rasen (1m5f) last month. That experience should stand him in good stead on this occasion. 

The Slade Power gelding has Byrony Frost on board on this second outing. He won't need to step up too much from his last run to prevail here.
