Bees boss Thomas Frank could do with an overdue win to help his side away from relegation worries.

- Brentford played out a 3-3 draw with Aston Villa last time out
- Sheffield United have scored eight goals across their last four games
- Recommended bet: Over 3.5 goals

Brentford are hovering just four points above the drop zone and they are winless in nine in a run stretching back to early February, but they will see the visit of rock-bottom Sheffield United as an excellent chance to end that streak.

The Blades are nine points adrift of safety with just seven games to play and their own survival prospects look bleak - although their 2-2 draw with Chelsea last time out suggests they haven’t given up the ghost just yet.

Team news

Bees boss Thomas Frank says key forward Ivan Toney is “fine and will be ready” to take on the Blades this weekend after he was limited to a late cameo against Villa last weekend.

The hosts will be without Josh Dasilva, Rico Henry, Ben Mee and Aaron Hickey, but Kevin Schade could feature for the first time since September after recovering from an adductor injury. Ethan Pinnock and Christian Norgaard are also rated as doubts.

The Blades have a lengthy injury list of their own with eight players unavailable for the trip to West London, although they have no fresh concerns following their stalemate with Chelsea.

The stats

Over 3.5 goals has been a winning bet in three of Brentford’s last seven games.

There have been at least four goals in each of Sheffield United’s last five games.

Brentford have scored in nine of their last 10 home games.

The Blades have scored in five of their last six away games, hitting 10 goals in total.

Prediction

The fact Brentford are winless in nine and Sheffield United have avoided defeat in three of their last four games does make the 19/10 on an away win or draw a tempting prospect here, but the better play could be backing a high-scoring game at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Both of these sides are involved in the battle against the drop and both have adopted attacking approaches in their respective survival bids.

The Blades survival hopes look bleak and it would take a huge turnaround for them to avoid an immediate return to the Championship, but they haven’t downed tools just yet and they put in a gutsy performance against Chelsea last week - fighting back from 1-0 and 2-1 down to snatch a point with an injury time equaliser.

Brentford are three places and four points above the bottom three and are looking to end a nine-game winless run.

They have been a little unlucky of late as they perhaps should have beaten both Manchester United and Aston Villa over the last few weeks, settling for a point on each occasion, but their six-goal draw with the latter last week demonstrates there are goals in this team.

Backing these two teams to combine for at least four goals stands out as over 3.5 goals has been a winning bet in each of Sheffield United’s last five games and they have scored 10 across their last four, while both teams have scored in six of Brentford’s last seven and they have hit a solid 25 goals in their 16 home games in the league.
