Bournemouth vs Brentford predictions: Another home win for Cherries

Bournemouth will be after a victory over Brentford in their final home game of the season to maintain their push for a top-half Premier League finish.

The Cherries can still equal their best-ever top-flight finish of ninth, which they achieved in 2016-17, although they will need to pick up points this weekend against the Bees and then on the final weekend at Chelsea, while also hoping West Ham and Brighton slip up.

Brentford have had a somewhat difficult campaign but have at least comfortably staved off the threat of relegation, as Thomas Frank's side sit 16th, 10 points clear of the bottom three.

Milos Kerkez is suspended for the hosts, who still also have plenty of injury issues.

Luis Sinisterra, Marcus Tavernier and Ryan Fredericks are all ruled out, while Tyler Adams and Chris Mepham are rated doubtful.

For Brentford, Ben Mee, Josh Dasilva, Rico Henry and Aaron Hickey have all been ruled out for the remainder of the season, while Mathias Jensen is a major doubt with a knock.

After a poor start, Bournemouth have impressed in the second half of the season under Andoni Iraola and a top-half finish is still in their sights ahead of Brentford's visit to the south coast.

They picked up successive wins to nil over Wolves and Brighton but were then beaten 3-0 last weekend at title-chasing Arsenal.

However, the result does not tell the full picture of the Emirates clash as the Cherries competed well for spells and were on the wrong end of some questionable decisions made by the officials.

At the Vitality Stadium recently, Iraola's side have been impressive, winning four of their last five games – a run which includes victories over Everton, Crystal Palace and Brighton – while they were the better side when being held to a 2-2 draw by Manchester United in the other game.

Brentford have struggled on the road of late, winning just one of their last seven and another tough away day beckons for Frank's side.
