Jonas Eidevall says Arsenal are still looking for fresh faces but refused to be drawn on speculation linking Mary Earps with the club.

The North London outfit have been linked with England and Manchester United goalkeeper Earps ahead of the summer window closing next week.

When asked about that on Friday, Gunners boss Eidevall told a press conference: "Individuals, we never comment on.

"We remain active in the transfer market. There might be business to be done but no comment on that specific individual."

Eidevall on Wednesday had spoken about Arsenal being "in the market for a right-back and maybe one other position as well".

That was after the 3-0 win at Sweden's Linkoping that saw his side advance to Saturday's Champions League first qualifying round clash at the same venue against Paris FC.

In that contest, England striker Alessia Russo made her competitive Arsenal debut after leaving United, as well as fellow summer recruits Amanda Ilestedt and Cloe Lacasse getting their bows.

Regarding Russo, Eidevall said: "I think she has so many different qualities and you see that when you see her on the training pitch as well.

"I think she's going to fit really well into the way we play."

On Wednesday, there was also a return appearance for Arsenal skipper Kim Little after injury, while unused substitute Beth Mead was part of the matchday squad for the first time since being sidelined by ACL damage last November.

Eidevall added: "I definitely think that's a positive momentum, in getting players returning.

"Then I always think, and we see that with Beth here now, when she's in the training environment, it's not as black and white as you just go back and you return to play.

"When you've been away a long time you also need to find your rhythm again, you need to find your form again, and that's going to be individual for all players."
