- Watford are unbeaten in their last 10 meetings with Rotherham
- The Millers hold the Championship's worst away record
- Recommended bet: Watford win to nil

Watford and Rotherham have both shown some improved form in the Championship over recent weeks as they prepare to lock horns at Vicarage Road on Saturday.

The Hornets are unbeaten in their last five matches, registering two wins and three draws, as they appear to be settling into life under Valerien Ismael.

For Rotherham it is just one defeat in five and they collected an impressive point against promotion-chasing Ipswich during the week.  However, the Millers remain in the relegation zone and have struggled on the road this season.

Team news

After being held to a goalless draw at Huddersfield last time out, Valerien Ismael may look to freshen up his attack for this one, with Ismael Kone, Matheus Martins and Mileta Rajovic all hoping to earn recalls.

The Hornets have no fresh injury concerns, so centre-back Ryan Porteous may again have to make do with a place on the bench after last week's clean sheet at the John Smith's Stadium.

Daniel Ayala came through 58 minutes of Rotherham's draw with Ipswich on what was his first start for the club and boss Matt Taylor must now decide if the Spaniard has done enough to retain his place in the starting XI.

With no other injury concerns, Taylor could be tempted to go with largely the same side that started that 2-2 draw.

The stats

Watford are unbeaten in their last five matches, picking up nine points over that time, while they have also kept three clean-sheets across their last four Championship games.

The Hornets also boast an impressive record against Rotherham, as they are unbeaten in the last 10 meetings between the two sides, a run that dates back to February 2003 when the Millers claimed a 2-1 success at Vicarage Road.

Rotherham have lost just one of their last five matches, beating Coventry and picking up credible draws against Southampton and Ipswich during that time.

However, the Millers have struggled on their travels all season and they hold the worst away record in the division, picking up just one point from their seven road games.

The South Yorkshire outfit are also the lowest away scorers, as they have netted just three goals and only once since August.

Prediction

There have been signs of improvement from both Watford and Rotherham of late, but the Hornets recent run appears more sustainable and they can build on that this weekend.

Three clean-sheets in four suggests Watford are becoming harder to beat and all four of their victories this season have been to nil.

If Rotherham could sort their away form out then they would not be languishing in the bottom three, however, one away point and just three goals on the road tells its own story.

This is not a new problem for Taylor's side, as it is now over a year since Rotherham registered an away win in any competition and it is difficult to see that run ending on Saturday.
