Transfer Talk: United eye Dumfries and Dest in search for new right-back
Manchester United have identified Denzel Dumfries and Sergino Dest as their main right-back targets.
Erik ten Hag is looking for an upgrade on Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot ahead of the new season.
Neither are deemed good enough for the new-look United by the Dutchman.
And he is keen on Inter Milan’s Dumfries, who scored five times and set up a further seven goals in his first season at the San Siro last term.
Reports in Italy suggest that the Nerazzurri would want as much as £34million for the 26-year-old, who they signed for £11.9m from PSV just 12 months ago.
But United are casting their net wide and also maintain an interest in USA international Dest.
They have been in conversation with Barcelona over a move for Frenkie de Jong, yet Catalan outlet Nacional say Dest’s name has cropped up.
Dest, 21, has featured 71 times for the Camp Nou outfit over recent seasons, but struggled with injuries last term.
United would likely face competition from other top European clubs for either player.
