Memphis Depay is attracting interest from Tottenham

Memphis Depay is rumoured to be the latest target of Antonio Conte and free-spending Tottenham.

Dutch winger Depay, 28, has rebuilt his career since a torrid two-year stint with Manchester United between 2015 and 2017.

A £25million arrival at Old Trafford, he managed just seven goals in 53 games for the Red Devils but shone with Ligue 1 side Lyon in the years that followed — fashioning a move to LaLiga giants Barcelona last summer.

However, Blaugrana boss Xavi is expected to add attacking reinforcements to his squad in the coming weeks and that could see the Netherlands star's stint in Catalonia cut short.

Spanish outlet Sport suggest that Spurs, who are close to bringing in Barca defender Clement Lenglet on a season-long loan, have also enquired about taking Depay off their hands.

Given Barca’s perilous financial position and the fact his contract only has 12 months to run, an offer above £17m would be enough to make a move happen and Conte is said to be an admirer of the 80-cap international.

After seeing his side secure Champions League qualification on the final day of last term, Spurs’ experienced Italian coach has wasted little time bulking up his squad.

Ivan Perisic, Fraser Foster, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison have already put pen to paper on moves to North London and more business looks certain to follow.

Despite their willingness to let him depart the Camp Nou, Depay still managed to net 12 goals in 27 LaLiga appearances for Barca last season.

Furthermore, his impressive record of 42 international strikes for the Oranje suggests he has the pedigree to make a better fist of a second Premier League stint should he be given the chance.

Jesse Lingard could be lining up for West Ham again very soon

The Daily Mail say West Ham will secure Jesse Lingard’s return to East London in the coming days, pipping Everton to the 29-year-old England international's signature.

Newcastle are still interested in bringing Bayer Leverkusen's 22-year-old French international Moussa Diaby to Tyneside this summer, according to Sky Sports.

The Mirror claim Manchester United are in pole position to land Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez for a fee of around £40m after club officials met up last weekend.
