Chelsea are set to increase their offer in an effort to sign Brighton and Ecuador midfielder Moises Caicedo.

The 21-year-old has been an ever-present for the Seagulls in the 2022-23 campaign and is seen by Todd Boehly as an ideal replacement for N'Golo Kante who is out of contract in the summer.

Chelsea have spent over £450million since the arrival of their new American owner but saw their first bid of £55m rejected for the midfield anchor.

Brighton are known for standing firm when it comes to selling their best players and have always got maximum value when they eventually depart.

Selling Yves Bissouma, Marc Cucurella and Leandro Trossard has seen them accumulate over £100m in transfer fees over the past year.

The Mirror report that Graham Potter is keen on reuniting with Caicedo, meaning the West Londoners are set to increase their bid to £65m in the coming days.

Their report suggests that this figure would tempt the Brighton hierarchy into selling, despite Roberto De Zerbi's wishes to keep the maestro until the end of the season.

Chelsea could create an entire team out of their current injuries but the recruitment of Caicedo would help them get back on track in the quest for a place in next season's Champions League.
