Manchester United are ready to try and hijack Liverpool’s signing of Fulham teenager Fabio Carvalho.

The Reds were unable to force through a move for the midfielder in the final hours of the January transfer window.

Carvalho’s deal at Craven Cottage runs out at the end of the season and United feel they can steal the 19-year-old from the Reds’ grasp.

They have had scouts watching him play for the Championship leaders, as have Arsenal, West Ham and Tottenham, but it looks like the Portuguese will move to the North West.

As he is under 23, Fulham will receive a fee for Carvalho despite his contract ending and The Star say Liverpool have agreed a price with the Cottagers.

That deal is said to include a clause to loan him back to Marco Silva’s side if they earn promotion back to the top flight — they are currently 10 points clear of third-placed Blackburn.

Carvalho has enjoyed a breakthrough season in West London, playing 23 times in all competitions, netting eight goals and setting up a further five.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp admitted at the start of February that they would be crazy not to try and sign him, despite failing in the January window.

Klopp said: "We are still interested, it would be crazy if not. But at the moment it's not in our own hands."

Manchester United are set to trigger the one-year extension option in Diogo Dalot’s contract, which could spell the end for Aaron Wan-Bissaka at Old Trafford, according to The Star.

Reports in Italy suggest Arsenal want to sign Alvaro Morata, who is currently on loan at Juventus from Atletico Madrid.

Marca believe Chelsea are keen on Real Madrid centre-back Eder Militao as they look to strengthen their defensive options.
