Manchester City are targeting Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic if they fail in their bid to sign Harry Kane.

Tottenham forward Kane has been at the top of City’s transfer list all summer but they are yet to meet Spurs' huge £150million valuation for the England captain.

The Etihad is believed to be Kane's preferred destination but the Premier League champions are unwilling to be held to ransom, with Italian publication FirenzeViola reporting they are drawing up a plan B in their search for a No9.

The report indicates City see Vlahovic, valued at £80m, as a possible alternative after he scored 21 goals in Serie A last season.

And the Citizens may be attracted to the younger and cheaper option as they struggle to make progress with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy over Kane.

The Serbia international, 21, has been a target for Spurs themselves, while Sky Italia have reported that a £51m bid by Atletico Madrid was rejected.

Vlahovic was believed to be happy to remain in Florence this season yet a bid from City may force the Italian club to cash in.

Wolves at the door

Wolves are readying themselves for an approach from Tottenham for Adama Traore if Kane does get his move to the Etihad.

Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo got the best out of the flying winger during his time at Molineux and the Mail report the North London club have held interest in a move all summer.

Kane’s sale could free up funds for a move for the Spain international, who is valued at £45m.

Traore, 25, was in fine form in Wolves’ opening defeat against Leicester and could have inspired his side to a victory with better finishing.

Nuno appeared to have turned his problems in front of goal around while in charge at Wolves, helping the speedster to four goals and nine assists in 2019-20.

Traore has two years left on his current contract and has yet to agree a new deal, with the Molineux outfit prepared to let him leave.

Watford have turned down a £5m approach from Crystal Palace for midfielder Will Hughes, as reported by the Sun.

Everton could sign Shalke forward Matthew Hoppe for less than his £7m valuation, with Bild indicating the German club see £4m as good business for the 20-year-old American.
