Tottenham boss Antonio Conte is under pressure and in need of a win this weekend

- Tottenham have failed to sparkle this term but have been ruthless when hosting lesser visitors
- Nottingham Forest have taken just six points from 12 Premier League away games this term
- Recommended bet: Tottenham to win to nil

Gloom has descended on the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium following their lifeless exits from the FA Cup and Champions League within the space of eight days.

Last weekend's Premier League defeat to Wolves only deepened the mood and, with the players failing to deliver Antonio Conte's managerial vision, there is a growing sense that Spurs are in a false position in fourth.

Nottingham Forest's arrival will be an interesting test of how far Tottenham have fallen as while visiting manager Steve Cooper has done a commendable job in building a team from scratch upon promotion, his side remains a soft touch on the road.

If Tottenham cannot beat visitors with a record of just three goals scored and six points collected from 12 away league games, then Conte will surely become Tottenham's third underwhelming exit of the month.

Team news

Yves Bissouma is one of several absentees for Tottenham

Tottenham's Rodrigo Bentancur is out for the season with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament and fellow midfielder Yves Bissouma remains out with an ankle fracture.

Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris and left-back Ryan Sessegnon are both out until April with knee and thigh injuries respectively.

Forest centre-backs Willy Boly and Scott McKenna remain out but Moussa Niakhate has an outside chance of returning from a thigh problem.

Full-backs Giulian Biancone and Omar Richards remain out with knee and calf injuries respectively and goalkeeper Dean Henderson is not expected back until April.

Defensive midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate is close to returning while striker Taiwo Awoniyi is expected to be out until April with a groin problem.

The stats

No Premier League team has collected fewer away points than Forest's six from 12 matches and they have netted just three goals on the road all season.

All three came at teams in the bottom three as the table stood going into the weekend – they have failed to score in all nine trips to teams placed 16th or higher, collecting just one point from those matches.

Tottenham have been poor against the better teams but have outclassed lesser opponents on home soil. Conte's men have won eight of nine home games against teams placed seventh or lower, scoring an average of 2.56 goals in those matches.

Prediction

Tottenham have endured a torrid couple of weeks but Conte could not have asked for a kinder fixture in which to alleviate the growing pressure.

Injury-ravaged Forest have such a poor away record – losing 4-0 at West Ham in their last road trip and conceding at least twice to each of the top seven – that Spurs could end their three-match goal drought in style.

But Forest's biggest problem on the road has been scoring goals and a misfiring frontline is unlikely to breach a Spurs defence that has kept four consecutive clean sheets on home soil, including against Manchester City, Chelsea and AC Milan.
