The 2023 Super League campaign has reached the halfway stage and all 12 teams will head to St James' Park for Magic Weekend hoping to pick up vital victories.

It is a weekend like no other in rugby league, with six matches occurring across two days in a yearly event.

This year's highlights include Salford's clash with Hull KR and Wigan Warriors' battle with fellow title challengers Catalans Dragons.

Salford vs Hull KR (Saturday, 1.30pm)

Two of Super League's in-form teams meet in the opening fixture of Magic Weekend, as Salford take on Hull KR.

The Robins have been one of the standout teams so far, thanks to the coaching of Willie Peters, but they are level on points with Salford, who are only behind them due to their inferior points difference.

Salford have only lost one of their previous seven games in all competitions, and they look good value for the win in what should be a close match.

Wigan Warriors vs Catalans Dragons (Saturday, 3.45pm)

Title-chasing pair Wigan Warriors and Catalans Dragons will meet in the second game of the Magic Weekend, and this game is expected to be the pick of the bunch.

Saturday's clash sees second entertain third, with only points difference separating the two clubs. Catalans' form is slightly better after three victories in four, so it makes more sense to trust the French outfit over a Wigan side who have lost two in four.

Leeds Rhinos vs Castleford Tigers (Saturday, 6pm)

A Yorkshire derby will bring Saturday's fixtures to a close, but sadly neither Leeds nor Castleford are in good form.

Rohan Smith's Leeds have won one in five, while Castleford are winless in six. With Leeds' form slightly better, it makes sense to back the Rhinos this weekend.

Wakefield vs Leigh Leopards (Sunday, 12pm)

Wakefield's miserable start to the season should continue on Sunday, as they face Leigh in the opening game on day two.

Mark Applegarth's side have been outclassed in all of their 13 fixtures so far, and a points difference of -299 suggests they will struggle again.

Sadly for Wakefield, Sunday's opponents, Leigh, are one of the success stories of the campaign and they should dominate in Newcastle.

St Helens vs Huddersfield Giants (Sunday, 2.15pm)

Even though Huddersfield returned to winning ways last week against Castleford, not a lot can be read into that due to the Tigers' form.

Paul Wellens' St Helens have now started to find some form and, after three wins on the spin, they are hard to oppose.

St Helens have also won six on the spin against Huddersfield, so they should have more than enough to beat Ian Watson's troops.

Hull FC vs Warrington Wolves (Sunday, 4.30pm)

After a slow start, Hull FC have started to find some form, but they are likely to struggle against league-leaders Warrington.

Tony Smith's side have won four in five to slowly climb the table, but they are about to face the best team in the competition.

Warrington won their last meeting in April 34-6, so it would be no surprise to see them cover the handicap this weekend.
