- Two former Hundred winners meet at The Rose Bowl
- Brave have been knocked off the top by Oval Invincibles
- Recommended bet:
Trent Rockets to win

Southern Brave were knocked off top spot in the Men's Hundred on Thursday and now have to beat Trent Rockets to avoid slipping any further.

The Brave were well beaten by six wickets by Oval Invincibles, who leapfrogged them to the top of the standings, as the race for a place on finals day hots up.

Trent Rockets are right in the thick of that chase, having moved up to six points with a comprehensive win over London Spirit on Wednesday.

Team news

The ECB will continue to monitor the workload of Brave paceman Jofra Archer, who conceded 22 runs from his 20 balls on Thursday.

Adam Lyth continues to partner Tom Banton at the top of the Rockets batting order, with Alex Hales enjoying himself at No.3, while Sam Hain's hamstring injury keeps him on the sidelines.

England paceman Jofra Archer always give a boost to the Southern Brave pace attack.

The stats

Brave skipper James Vince is the competition's leading run scorer with 310 runs in six innings, having passed 50 on four occasions.

Southern Brave have won four and lost two of their six matches, with both defeats having come when batting first.

All three Trent Rockets victories so far this season have come when batting first, while both of their defeats have come when chasing.

These two franchises have met four times in the competition to date, claiming two wins apiece.

Prediction

Southern Brave have been in great form this season, but it just takes one slip to lose precious ground and that is what happened to James Vince's men on Thursday.

Despite yet another half century from Vince himself, his fourth in six knocks, they succumbed to Oval Invincibles.

Despite being back at their home ground in Southampton, they may not get too much change out of Trent Rockets.

Both these franchises have lost twice, but it is Tom Banton's Rockets who come in with the greater momentum and they can land the odds.

The Rockets tied London Spirit up in knots on Wednesday, with spin twins Rashid Khan and Imad Wasim taking six wickets between them after Alex Hales had set the tone with a ferocious 68.

The Brave's outstanding pace attack, stronger still if Jofra Archer keeps his place, is the arguably best in the competition, but the Rockets can cause any amount of damage with their more varied attack.

Vince to be top Southern Brave run-scorer looks obvious, while Hales has top scored for the Rockets in each of their last three matches.

However, the better bet since there is almost nothing to choose between these two sides may well be Trent Rockets to win.
