LiveScore Racing Preview: Sandown, June 12, 2021

The Scurry Stakes is the feature race at Sandown on this Saturday afternoon of racing from the Esher-based track. 

Run over 5f, it takes place at 2.15pm. 

Here are five horses to follow from the meeting, including a selection in the big sprint contest.

1.05pm - Watch Racing Free Online At Coral Handicap (7f)

The horse with the least experience in this opening race on the card is RUN TO FREEDOM. 

Although he hasn't quite seen the racecourse as often as his rivals, he is the one which is open to the most improvement. 

Henry Candy's runner prevailed at the third time of asking at Kempton on the AW last December. 

He ran on really strongly at the end of that contest so there could be much more to come. 

This looks a lenient mark for him to begin handicapping with.

1.35pm - Coral Best Odds Guaranteed Handicap (5f)

All eyes will be Kendergarten Kop here to see if he can complete an incredible four-timer. 

The six-year-old sprinter has been in excellent form over the last three months. 

He has gone up 13lb since his first success so this will be a tough test for him. 

The best handicapped runner in the field could be PRAXEOLOGY. 

He was once rated as high as 91 but is now down to a mark of 80. 

This horse's form has been much better recently so the former distance winner has a great chance of prevailing.

2.15pm - Coral "Beaten By A Length" Free Bet Scurry Stakes (5f - Listed)

ATALIS BAY and Steel Bull are the highest rated horses in this feature race and it could come down to a battle between the talented sprinters. 

With three wins from six starts on turf, the former should be favoured to come out on top. 

Marco Botti's runner was second of eight runners at this level on his last appearance at York (5f). 

He was beaten by Winter Power who is a Group winner. 

The opposition this time does not look as strong so he can go one place better and land his first Listed success.

2.50pm - Play Coral 'Racing-Super-Series' For Free Handicap (1m)

The distance just looked to be too far for LATEST GENERATION at Newbury back in April. 

He was a long way behind the winner Hurricane Lane who went on to finish third in the Derby. 

A drop down to 1m seems a smart move. 

This son of Frankel scored over this distance at Doncaster last season. 

If he builds upon that, he will have an excellent chance from this mark. 

It is interesting to see connections are fitting the tongue-tie for the first time. 

That is likely to help the horse settle in the early stages.

3.25pm - Coral Handicap (1m1f)

Arqoob, King Of Clubs and ENSURED are all recent winners who are looking to follow up in this hotly contest handicap contest over 1m1f. 

The latter was the most impressive of the three horses, scoring by 11 lengths. 

Expect to see the son of Sea The Stars switched off at the back of the field again before he makes his challenge in the final 2f. 

If he picks up again like he did at this course, he is going to take some stopping.
