Romelu Lukaku grabbed a vital equaliser against Feyenoord

Romelu Lukaku insists he is focused on Roma despite uncertainty surrounding his future after he scored in their 1-1 draw at Feyenoord in the Europa League knockout round play-off first leg.

Lukaku cancelled out Igor Paixao's opener for the hosts to give his side the momentum at the halfway stage of the tie.

The future of the Belgian striker is up in the air after reports suggested the Italians will not be signing him permanently from Chelsea this summer.

But Lukaku claims he is only thinking about the current campaign.

He said: "Right now I am focused on Roma, there is no point talking about the future now. I want to help Roma to win.

"This is the life of a football player, there are positive and negative moments.

"I am living a dream really. I play in a league that gave me so much, now I want to do everything I can to help Roma win."

The Serie A team will be the happier of the two sides with the scores level heading into the second leg at the Stadio Olimpico.

Their all-important equaliser came in the 67th minute when Lukaku met a cross with his shoulder to send the ball looping into the net.

The striker was satisfied with the result but believes his side were capable of more.

He added: "We wanted to win but Feyenoord are a very strong team, especially in possession.

"It was a good performance. We had other chances but it’s a good result in Rotterdam and now we will fight it out with everything in the second leg in Rome."
