Luk who has rejoined Inter on loan from Chelsea
Romelu Lukaku has rejoined Inter Milan on loan from Chelsea as the worst kept secret in football has finally been confirmed.
The Belgian striker's return to Stamford Bridge last summer was expected to deliver goals galore as he looked to settle some unfinished business in West London.
But the £97.5million signing's second spell with the Blues did not go to plan, with Lukaku netting a paltry 15 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions.
The release of an interview criticising Thomas Tuchel's tactics and expressing his love for Inter did not help his cause and saw him dropped before Chelsea's 2-2 draw with Liverpool in January.
Regardless of how he performs back at the San Siro, the deal Inter have struck does not include an option or obligation to make the switch permanent next summer.
After arriving in Italy to finalise his loan move, Lukaku said: "I'm so happy to be back.
"It's like coming home. My family and I were so happy here thanks to the people, the fans and my team-mates.
"From the first day I arrived here, everyone helped me settle in. I'm very happy. I kept my home here when I went to England, so that means something.
"I'm pleased to be back and now I can't wait to get out there with my team-mates."
In his first spell at Inter between 2019 and 2021, 29-year-old Lukaku struck 64 goals in just 95 appearances for the Nerazzurri.
He was part of the side that lost the 2020 Europa League final to Sevilla before winning the Scudetto the following season, while he was also named Serie A Footballer of the Year and MVP in 2021.
Lukaku added: "It's an amazing feeling. What we achieved here a year ago was fantastic. That goes for the team, the fans and also me personally.
"Inter have given me so much and I hope to do even better than last time. It's now time to work hard as a squad and hopefully do even better than before."
