Musselburgh hosts a competitive-looking card on Sunday

Musselburgh is among a trio of UK meetings taking place on Sunday afternoon with the Edinburgh location staging a card packed with competitive handicaps.

They race in Scotland from 3.55pm through until 6.40pm with conditions set to be 'good-good to firm in places' and we have selected five to follow on their seven-race programme.

4.20pm - Sky Bet Sunday Series Apprentice Training Series Handicap (1m1f)

The margin was only a head at Carlisle (1m1f, good) as DETECTIVE made it three wins in his last four starts but Dianne Sayer's five-year-old perhaps was worth more, having been forced to change course late on before surging home to win.

He is only 3lb higher and — just three days on from his first — can give apprentice Aiden Brookes a second career winner.

Asdaa, Six Strings, Tommy G and Noble Crusade rank as solid players in a wide open apprentice event.

LiveScore Selection: Detective

4.45pm - Sky Bet Sunday Series Nursery (5f)

Tim Easterby will feel Atomic Lady has more to give after she made a winning start to her nursery career at York (6f, good) this month.

She is bidding for a hat-trick and her novice win was over this trip.

FIREBOMB has thrice finished second in maidens over the last six weeks and an opening mark of 75 is within reach for Bryan Smart's Swiss Spirit colt.

He gets 7lb from the filly and is a major player stepping out in a handicap for the first time.

LiveScore Selection: Firebomb

5.15pm - Sky Bet Sunday Series Sprint Handicap (5f)

A deeply competitive 5f sprint here for the older horses. Lots of the 17-runner field will fancy their chances but perhaps GLORY FIGHTER can defy top-weight for Iain Jardine and Jamie Gormley.

The Kyllachy gelding won over C&D (soft) to sign off last season and he has shaped with some promise in his four starts this term without getting his head in front.

He was not beaten far when sixth at Chester last time and — with Gormley back in the saddle for the first time since that win here — is now 1lb below his last win-mark.

LiveScore Selection: Glory Fighter

5.45pm - Sky Bet Sunday Series Fillies' Handicap (1m)

She was quite useful last year, winning 2-3 starts after a mishap on her Haydock debut in August and RISING STAR has probably bettered those efforts despite defeats in both runs this term.

She looked in need of the run at Pontefract last month (finished third) and has since run a cracking race to be second at Newmarket (7f, good to firm) in a stronger grade than this one 15 days ago.

Returning to the mile won't be a problem for Marco Botti's daughter of Fast Company and she is up to giving weight to these rivals on that evidence.

LiveScore Selection: Rising Star

6.15pm - Sky Bet Sunday Series Handicap (7f)

FRED is only 1lb higher than when he won at Brighton (7f, good to firm) in April, adding to his all-weather wins at Lingfield and Chelmsford early in the year.

He has been held since in four runs but Ben Curtis may be able to get an easy enough lead here and they are better suited at these weights compared to a two-length fourth at Epsom 10 days ago.

The Frankel gelding has a solid chance on form.

LiveScore Selection: Fred
