Frank Lampard's Everton are up against it in their bid to avoid relegation

It is still all to play for in the Premier League at the top, the race for fourth and the battle to avoid relegation ahead of Matchday 35.

Everton boss Frank Lampard faces old club Chelsea with his side desperate for points in their survival bid, while title rivals Liverpool and Manchester City face games against Newcastle and Leeds.

Newcastle vs Liverpool (Saturday, 12.30pm, BT Sport 1)

A resurgent Magpies are the next team Jurgen Klopp's men must overcome in their pursuit of Premier League glory.

The visitors have won 37 points from the previous 39 available and can earn a two-point cushion for a few hours at least with victory at St James' Park.

They could face a stern test as the Geordie faithful have been treated to home wins in their last six games.

But the Magpies have not tasted success in any of their previous 10 meetings with the Reds, while they are also without a win the last four times the Merseysiders have visited Tyneside.

Aston Villa vs Norwich (Saturday, 3pm)

Dean Smith returns to Villa Park this Saturday with his Norwich team needing a miracle to avoid a second Premier League relegation in three seasons.

The now Canaries boss will be encouraged by the fact his old side Aston Villa have alarmingly picked up just one point in their last five games under Steven Gerrard, the man who replaced him in November.

Smith will be looking to become the first manager to win a Premier League game against Villa having previously managed them in the competition, with himself (once), Martin O’Neill (two) and Ron Atkinson (five) all failing in eight attempts.

The Villans have won seven of the last eight top-flight meetings with the East Anglian outfit, including the most recent four. Birmingham were the last opponents they won five in a row against, between October 2005 and April 2010.

Southampton vs Crystal Palace (Saturday, 3pm)

Whoever comes out on top between Southampton and Crystal Palace will continue to harbour hopes of a top-half finish.

Palace have won just one of their 12 Premier League away games against the Saints (three draws, eight losses) and have not kept a clean sheet on the road in any of the previous clashes with them in the competition.

But Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side have conceded 19 goals in their last eight league outings, shipping at least twice on six occasions during that run. Their only win and clean sheet in that time was their 1-0 victory over Arsenal.

The visitors have won 50% of games Jean-Philippe Mateta has started in all competitions this season, compared to just 17% when the Frenchman has been absent from the XI.

Watford vs Burnley (Saturday, 3pm)

Watford look nailed on to drop down to the second tier but, after a late-season revival under interim boss Mike Jackson, Burnley might not be joining them.

Since sacking long-serving manager Sean Dyche, the Clarets have picked up seven points from a possible nine — as many as they had in their last eight games — and now sit two points above Everton in 17th.

They are up against a Hornets side who have a dismal home record, having lost their last 10 games at Vicarage Road — no side has ever lost 11 straight Premier League games at their own ground.

If the visitors are to continue their surprise run, they will hope Dwight McNeil can return to scoring form — no player has had more shots (42) and more shots on target (12) without scoring than the winger this season.

Wolves vs Brighton (Saturday, 3pm)

European qualification is still on the cards for Wolves ahead of the visit of mid-table Brighton.

The men from Molineux have won their last two games against the Seagulls, as many as they had in the previous 16 meetings.

An astonishing 22 of Wolves’ Premier League fixtures have been decided by a one-goal margin (11 wins, 11 defeats) — only three teams have ever had more in a 38-game campaign.

After falling away since the turn of the year, Graham Potter's men have earned seven points from their last four games, as many as they had in their previous 11.

Leeds vs Manchester City (Saturday, 5.30pm, Sky Sports)

City know a perfect end to the season is likely required to keep hold of top spot but a revived Leeds could present some problems in Saturday’s late kick-off.

The West Yorkshire club have picked up 11 points from their last 15 available but still sit just five points above the drop ahead of a tough set of games.

Having beaten the Whites 7-0 in the reverse fixture, the Citizens are looking to complete their first league double over the Elland Road club since 1981-82.

Gabriel Jesus’ four strikes and an assist against Watford last weekend mean he is now second for goal involvements among Brazilians in the Premier League (86), with only Liverpool’s Roberto Firmino (116) on more.

Everton vs Chelsea (Sunday, 2pm, Sky Sports)

Lampard will hope his old club Chelsea give Everton a lifeline in their bid for Premier League survival.

The Toffees have slipped two points below Burnley and into the bottom three — the first time they have started a game in the relegation zone since December 2019, when they beat the West Londoners 3-1 to lift themselves out of trouble.

Everton will be encouraged by the three straight home wins they have against Chelsea, while they have picked up seven points in their most recent three home games this season.

Midfielder Dele Alli could come in for his first start since joining Everton on loan — the former Tottenham man has five goals in eight league games against Thomas Tuchel's side.

Tottenham vs Leicester (Sunday, 2pm)

A defeat and a draw in their previous two outings have seen Spurs hand the initiative to Arsenal in the top-four race and they will look to get back on track against Leicester.

Antonio Conte takes charge of his 100th Premier League game hoping his team can at least muster a shot on target having failed to do so in the last two games.

The North Londoners have won seven of their last 10 clashes against the Foxes, including a dramatic stoppage-time turnaround in their 3-2 victory at the King Power Stadium in January's reverse fixture.

Harry Kane is without a goal in his last five games, though he has scored 18 times in 17 games against his former club — more than he has against any other opponent.

West Ham vs Arsenal (Sunday, 4.30pm, Sky Sports)

Arsenal know they cannot afford to slip up at West Ham if they are to keep their grip on fourth spot.

The Gunners' record against their London rivals is strong, having lost just twice in the last 29 meetings between the pair.

In fact, the Hammers have lost more games against Arsenal (33) than they have against any other side in the Premier League.

Striker Alexandre Lacazette will be desperate to get back on the scoresheet — the Frenchman has been involved in six goals in his last seven league appearances against the East London outfit.

Manchester United vs Brentford (Monday, 8pm, Sky Sports)

Just one win in their last seven games means Manchester United’s season is fizzling out ahead of their home clash against in-form Brentford.

The Bees have hit the 40-point mark in their first-ever Premier League season thanks to five wins and just one defeat in seven matches.

History suggests their maiden Premier League trip to Old Trafford could be tricky for Thomas Frank’s men, with the last 20 teams visiting the Theatre of Dreams for the first time failing to win — the last side to do so being Derby in April 1997.

Visiting striker Ivan Toney’s 12 league goals this season have been worth nine points to his team, with only Cristiano Ronaldo proving to be more valuable to his side.
