Villa lost 2-1 at Go Ahead Eagles on Thursday
Man City won 2-0 at Villarreal on Tuesday
Recommended bet: Man City win & Both Teams to Score
Unai Emery's Europa League selection gamble flopped on Thursday night but the Villa boss will be hoping it pays dividends at the weekend.
Emery rested seven first-teamers at Go Ahead Eagles in the Netherlands and saw his pick-and-mix side lose 2-1 after going in front.
He will restore his big guns for the visit of City and in particular Erling Haaland, who has scored more goals on his own this term than Villa have as a team.
Team news
Villa boss Emery made seven changes for the trip to Go Ahead Eagles in the Europa League, so is expected to recall Matty Cash, Ezra Konsa, John McGinn, Morgan Rogers and one or two others. Lucas Digne could also be available.
Nico Gonzalez is a doubt for City after getting injured at Villarreal in the Champions League, a cause of concern for Pep Guardiola with Rodri still sidelined.

The stats
Villa were on a five-game winning streak before the 2-1 defeat at Go Ahead Eagles in the Europa League.
City have won more points (39) than any other top-flight side since the start of April.
All eight of Villa's games in the league have produced nine corners or more.
Erling Haaland has scored 24 goals this season for club and country and has been the first scorer in eight of City's 11 Premier League and European fixtures.
He has scored in each of his last five Premier League away games.
Prediction
Aston Villa have beaten Manchester City on each of their last two showdowns at Villa Park, but a hat-trick looks as though it could be beyond Emery's men on Sunday.
It is not as though Villa are not getting results because they absolutely are, with five straight wins prior to Thursday night's 2-1 defeat in the Netherlands to Go Ahead Eagles in the Europa League.
And three of those wins were at home so clearly Villa are going okay.
But City look to have a swagger back with seven wins and two draws in their last nine culminating in Tuesday's tidy 2-0 success at LaLiga high-fliers Villarreal in the Champions League.
That means they have had an extra two days to prepare for this assignment and even though Emery rang the changes in Holland, it was still a squad effort and rest time has been short.
And you do not want to be caught in any way off guard when Haaland is in the house, the Norwegian already up to 24 goals this season having scored in all but one of his 14 appearances for club and country this term.
He has scored more goals on his own than Villa have as a club and that added goal threat from the visitors could be critical.
Villa can play their part in a decent affair so take City to win and both teams to find the net.
