- Both teams have scored in nine of Newcastle's last ten league and cup wins
- Leicester have lost all nine of their meetings with top-five clubs such as Newcastle
- Recommended bet: Newcastle to Win and Both Teams to Score

Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Aston Villa on Saturday means Newcastle need just one point from their final two games to guarantee Champions League qualification.

Having brushed aside in-form Brighton 4-1 on Thursday, the Magpies have little to fear from a Leicester side who have not kept a Premier League clean sheet since before the World Cup break.

Dean Smith's men have lost 3-0 to Liverpool and 5-3 at Fulham in their last two fixtures, leaving them mired in the bottom three, and their defenders can expect another tough night against a Newcastle side bidding to clinch a top-four spot.

Team news

Newcastle midfielder Joe Willock (hamstring) has joined Jamaal Lascelles, Sean Longstaff, Emil Krafth and Matt Ritchie on the sidelines.

Kieran Trippier, Joelinton and Jacob Murphy face fitness tests.

Leicester are likely to be without Caglar Soyuncu, James Justin, Danny Ward, Ryan Bertrand and Jannik Vestergaard.

Striker Kelechi Iheanacho (groin) could be rushed back to action but midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is a doubt.

The stats

Both teams have scored in nine of Newcastle's last 10 league and cup wins.

Five of the Magpies' last six Premier League matches have had over 3.5 goals.

Callum Wilson has scored eight goals in his last six league appearances for Newcastle.

Nine of Leicester's last 11 games have seen both teams score.

The Foxes' only clean sheets in 25 matches since Christmas have come against League Two sides Gillingham and Walsall in the FA Cup.

Leicester have lost all nine of their meetings with top-five clubs such as Newcastle.

Prediction

While Leicester's lack of clean sheets has left them on the brink of relegation to the Championship, Newcastle have the attacking firepower to make up for their own defensive lapses.

The Magpies have shut out their opponents in only one of their last 10 league and cup victories, keeping just one clean sheet in their last 18 games.

However, they have thumped Brighton and Southampton 4-1, West Ham 5-1 and Tottenham 6-1 in the last six weeks.

Leicester need a victory if they are to stave off relegation so have to take risks at St James' Park and they scored three times, as well as missing a penalty, in their last away game at Fulham.

Unfortunately for the Foxes, they also conceded five times at Craven Cottage and, having lost all nine of their league meetings with clubs in the top five, they look set for another high-scoring defeat.
