- This will be the 48th edition of the Memorial Tournament, which debuted in 1976
- Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, has hosted this event since its inception

Recommended bets:
- Patrick Cantlay to win and each-way
- Collin Morikawa to win and each-way
- Gary Woodland top-10 finish

The latest $20million designated PGA Tour event takes place this week with a host of star names teeing it up at Muirfield Village Golf Club, which stages the prestigious Memorial Tournament for the 48th time.

World number one Scottie Scheffler tops the betting at 13/2 with LiveScore Bet and he is closely pursued by Masters champion Jon Rahm, who is 15/2 to claim this title for the second time having previously won it in 2020.

Out-of-form 2022 champion Billy Horschel, who eased to a four-shot victory last season, is a 200/1 chance with LiveScore Bet to successfully defend his title.

Two-time champion returns to Ohio in fantastic form

While compelling cases can be made for both Scheffler and Rahm, the big two in the market may have to play second fiddle to Patrick Cantlay, a two-time champion who boasts form figures of 4-1-7-32-1-3 from the last six events at Muirfield Village.

The Ohio track has undergone significant renovations over recent seasons, becoming a true test of ball-striking excellence, and that is where Cantlay excels. The Californian has been particularly brilliant with his driver this season, ranking 27th in driving distance and ninth in accuracy.

He is fortunate to have won the Memorial twice – Jon Rahm was forced to withdraw with a commanding lead through 54 holes in 2021 – but there is no doubt that Cantlay loves Muirfield Village, where his long-game class tends to shine.

And while he has not won since August 2022, the 31-year-old has been playing well in recent weeks. A slightly cold putter has let him down, but he has routinely putted well on the bentgrass greens of Ohio and is 10/1 to triumph with LiveScore Bet.

Accurate iron-play makes Morikawa a Memorial threat

Collin Morikawa has never won the Memorial Tournament but he is a course winner, picking up the one-off Workday Charity Open title at Muirfield Village in 2020, so he should be full of confidence returning to a venue which suits his accurate style.

The two-time Major champion made a sluggish start at the Charles Schwab Challenge last week, playing the opening nine holes in five over par, but he recovered well to finish in a share of 29th place..

Statistically the best iron-player on the PGA Tour, Morikawa's skill set is perfect for Muirfield Village, where he was also a Memorial runner-up, beaten in a play-off by Cantlay in 2021.

If he has a better week on the greens, expect him to outrun odds of 22/1 with LiveScore Bet.

Woodland looks capable of contending at a big price

For a top-10 finish selection, look no further than Gary Woodland, who missed the cut at the US PGA Championship last time out but had previously been playing solid golf, including a 14th-place finish at the Masters in April.

Woodland has finished sixth or better at Muirfield Village on three previous occasions and his solid tee-to-green game can see him threaten the leaderboard once again. He is 15/2 with LiveScore Bet to finish in the top 10.
