Wincanton will host a seven-race jumps card on Thursday

Jumps racing takes place at Wincanton on Thursday afternoon and they boast some excellent action on their seven-race card, including the Somerset National at 3.50pm.

They get underway at 1.15pm with ground conditions forecast to be 'Good to soft-soft in places' and the finale set to go to post at 4.20pm. We've picked out five to follow on the card.

Name In Lights made a very promising start over hurdles for Colin Tizzard's team when second at Sandown in November.

He then tailed off at the same venue in December, although that came in the race where Supreme Novices' favourite Constitution Hill debuted, so he is readily forgiven.

He should bounce back but preference in this opener is for Olly Murphy's DUKE OF ROCKINGHAM.

He took some winding up on his hurdles bow at Lingfield in November, but he was flying home at the death and would have got up in another few strides.

LiveScore Selection: Duke Of Rockingham

1.45pm - Watch RacingTV With Free Trial Now Handicap Hurdle (3m½f)

Imphal should have leading claims on the back of his second behind a clearly well-handicapped Ardhill at Ascot before Christmas.

Gary Moore's charge has won three times this season at staying trips and that run behind the Irish raider last month suggests he's got more to give.

Jepeck dominated from the front here over a shorter distance 12 days ago for a convincing success, but today's rivals may be wise to allowing him to repeat such tactics and so teenager VALTOR might be the one.

He ran well over fences last month at Ascot on first start for Melanie Rowley and he's rated 13lb lower over timber.

LiveScore Selection: Valtor

Valtor (second left) ran well on his first start for new trainer Melanie Rowley at Ascot last month

2.15pm - Use The Racingtv.com Tracker Handicap Chase (2m4f)

Both Native Robin and Esprit De Somoza were winners last time out but they have more to do in this line-up and ONEUPMANSHIP is narrowly preferred.

A lightly-raced hurdles winner last season, he was in the process of making a bold first shape over fences at Ffos Las (2m5f, heavy) in mid-December only to come down at the second last.

He should learn from the mistake there and can build on the effort.

LiveScore Selection: Oneupmanship

2.45pm - Racing TV Free For A Month Handicap Hurdle (2m4f)

The David Pipe-trained MR TAMBOURINE MAN made an early mistake in a Taunton novice last month, his first outing after a wind op, and that may have contributed to his modest fourth-place finish.

He's back into a handicap now and on the strength of his Newton Abbot second (2m5½f, good to soft) he is on a very workable mark.

LiveScore Selection: Mr Tambourine Man

3.50pm - Somerset National Handicap Chase (3m2½f)

Legends Gold has placed on all three of her starts over shorter distance this season and could deliver at Wincanton

Destinee Royale might well have made a winning return at Cheltenham on New Year's Day had her jumping held up, she could do better here, while Favori De Sivola is making a habit of winning and comes here with every chance too.

The mare LEGENDS GOLD has placed in all three starts this season over shorter and stamina won't be an issue for her. Rebecca Curtis' eight-year-old is very consistent and her turn should come again soon.

LiveScore Selection: Legends Gold
