The pick of Friday's racing action is the card at Sandown, where they stage the opening afternoon of their Tingle Creek Festival.

It is a six-race offering at the Esher venue from 12.45pm until 3.35pm, with conditions forecast to be 'Good to soft-good in places'.

The card is headlined by the Grade 2 Ballymore Winter Novices' Hurdle at 2.25pm and we have picked five horses for you to follow.

12.45pm - Sargent Fifty Amateur Jockeys' Handicap Chase (3m)

The Philip Hobbs-trained ROLLING DYLAN was returning from close to 600 days off when finishing second in a decent Aintree Veterans' Chase over this sort of trip in October.

That was a pleasing comeback effort and, given time to get over those exertions, the 10YO might well be capable of going a place better in this Amateur Jockeys' Handicap Chase that opens the Sandown card.

1.50pm - Betfair Daily Rewards Novices' Limited Handicap Chase (2m4f)

BOTHWELL BRIDGE chased home Third Time Lucki in a bumper at Huntingdon on his rules bow in January 2020 and his subsequent second to Boothill was also promising.

Two hurdles wins last season were sandwiched in between a good third behind Bravemansgame at Newbury in a novice event and trainer Nicky Henderson thought enough of him to contest an Aintree Grade 1 on final start in the spring.

After a wind op, he returns to go chasing and he could make an immediate impact.

2.25pm - Ballymore Winter Novices' Hurdle (Grade 2, 2m4f)

The obvious one is Brave Kingdom for Paul Nicholls as he impressed in his hurdling bow at Chepstow last month.

He makes good appeal but FAIR FRONTIERES can give him some food for thought.

Kim Bailey's charge had one near miss in Ireland last season over this trip and he routed his rivals at Worcester (2m7f, soft) in October on stable bow recently — he drops in trip and rises in class and should have more to come.

LiveScore selection: Fair Frontieres

3pm - Betfair Exchange Handicap Chase (1m7½f)

The Venetia Williams team are in form and Ffos Las winner DESQUE DE L'ISLE could be good enough to follow up here following that win just over three weeks ago.

The runner-up has come and won since and while the handicapper has handed out a 10lb rise, rider Ned Fox is able to negate that as he looks for a second winner under rules.

LiveScore selection: Desque De L'Isle

3.35pm - Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle (2m7½f)

Stablemates William Henry and Al Dancer are the class acts for Sam Thomas, the former goes well fresh but is soon to turn 12, while Al Dancer reverts back to hurdles and could be nicely treated with his rider taking 7lb off.

THE COB won a Grade 2 novice at Doncaster last season over this sort of trip before struggling at Cheltenham in the Albert Bartlett.

Ben Pauling's charge has a positive record when fresh and a mark of 136 could be within reach.

LiveScore selection: The Cob
