Leicester hosts a six-race card on Monday
Leicester hosts a six-race card on Monday

Leicester is one of two jumps meetings taking place on Monday afternoon in the UK, with the opener scheduled for 1.00pm.

The official going is described as 'Good To Soft, Good in places' for the six-race offering.

1pm - Every Race Live On Racing TV Mares' Maiden Hurdle (2m4½f)

It was an excellent day for Dan and Harry Skelton at Cheltenham on Sunday and the pair could team up for more success in the opener at Leicester.

GET A TONIC is a point-to-point winner who finished second of 12 on her hurdles debut at Uttoxeter (2m) last month.

Expect to see the Skeltons' runner step up on that last outing and she won't need to improve much to win this maiden, as she may have bumped into a smart hurdler on her first appearance over obstacles.

Nigel Twiston-Davies' Robinshill is tipped to go well fresh at Leicester
Nigel Twiston-Davies' Robinshill is tipped to go well fresh at Leicester

ROBINSHILL began last season with three straight successes, two of which came over hurdles, while he then showed his versatility to prevail in a handicap chase.

It looks like the horse ran out of steam in his final two races of the campaign but Nigel Twiston-Davies' runner has had a well-earned break over the summer and will return fresh for this latest assignment.

This mark of 121 is 1lb less than his last victory over hurdles, which puts him in with a great chance here.

2pm - Watch On Racing TV Novices' Selling Hurdles (1m7½f)

With no wins from 10 starts, MONARCHOFTHEGRANGE is still a maiden.

However, a drop down to selling company should help him record that first success, especially on the basis of his last run, as he finished a close third in a class three handicap hurdle at Newbury (2m½f).

This horse has shown enough encouragement throughout his career that he can get his nose in front and he firmly sets the standard in this contest.

Zabeel Champion and Lydford were both very good operators on the Flat and are having their first taste of National Hunt racing here on their hurdles debuts.

One of the horses in this race who does have some hurdles experience is DRUNKEN PIRATE and that may count for a lot.

Martin Bosley's gelding finished fifth of 18 in a hotly contested maiden race at Exeter (2m2½f) back in January 2019.

He has since switched from Noel Williams' yard and the bumper winner is down in trip which is likely to suit him better.

LiveScore selection: Drunken Pirate

Plenty is expected of David Pipe's Kalzari
Plenty is expected of David Pipe's Kalzari

KALZARI is a very interesting recruit to David Pipe's yard.

The three-year-old filly scored over hurdles on her second career start at Compiegne in France.

She has since moved to the UK and she may have a very smart future.

Not only does Pipe's runner have more experience than her rivals here, she is the only winner in this field.

Although she will need to concede weight all around, that may not be enough to stop her from prevailing on her UK debut.

LiveScore selection: Kalzari
