The weekend's approaching again and that means another busy Friday of racing action in store across Britain and Ireland.

We are focused on Huntingdon, where they go jump racing from 1pm until 4pm with a seven-race card set to be run on 'Soft' ground.

And we have out five to follow at the Cambridgeshire venue.

1pm - Racing TV Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle (2m3½f)

The hat-trick seeking Ace Time comes here on the back of decisive wins at Leicester and Uttoxeter before Christmas and would not be dismissed in haste despite starting 2022 from an 8lb higher mark.

However, preference in this opening contest is for ALBERIC

The Philip Hobbs inmate has been toying with the notion of opening his account this season in five runs and he was a long way clear of the remainder at Hereford recently when finishing a close second.

From an unchanged mark a replication may be good enough.

LiveScore selection: Alberic

2pm - Racing TV Novices' Limited Handicap Chase (2m4f)

Our Power was a Wincanton winner last month over this trip on his second start over fences.

The Sam Thomas inmate got no further than the first fence at Doncaster last Saturday and needs to put that behind him.

A field of only four but this should be run at an honest pace and the mare BARBADOS BLUE might have the beating of the boys.

She is capable of dominating from the front, has course form and last month's Warwick second behind The Glancing Queen in a Listed Mares' novice is a strong piece of form.

2.30pm - Chatteris Fen Juvenile Hurdle (1m7½f)

Gary Moore is renowned for housing plenty of promising young hurdlers down the years and he may have another one in KOTMASK here.

After just one run in France last summer he joined this stable and could hardly have been more impressive in his winning British bow at Fontwell (2m1½f, good to soft) last month considering he had a stumble at the first flight.

The stable are in cracking form and he should take some halting now.

3pm - Racing TV Mares' Novices' Hurdle (2m4½f)

This should prove a good opening for HILLFINCH

She won a Market Rasen bumper on debut in September and most recently ran third in a Listed contest here last month.

Stuart Edmunds' string have made a bright start to 2022 and this five-year-old should have plenty to offer going jumping.

Holly Hartingo and Russian Rumour are hurdles winner already but are penalised accordingly and that may leave the door open for the newcomer to get in.

3.30pm - Racing TV Handicap Chase (2m7½f)

We have not seen Loud As Lions for two years but he was a winner over C&D when last spotted so he is due a close look now back from his absence, though fitness is a concern clearly.

Four of the 10 runners were pulled-up last time out so this is a tough puzzle to assess.

PETER'S PORTRAIT has been off since November 2020 but he had won at Ludlow in one of three chase starts that season and is weighted to go in again if Charlie Longsdon has him ready to roll on this comeback outing.

LiveScore selection: Peter's Portrait
