Chepstow stages eight races on Tuesday

There is a jumps meeting at Chepstow on Tuesday afternoon with eight races down for decision at the Welsh circuit.

Conditions are set to be 'Good' and the action takes place from 1.20pm until 5.20pm.

We have picked five horses for you to follow at the meeting.

1.20pm - Pickwick Bookmakers Maiden Hurdle Division 1 (2m3½f)

It is probable that Mr Glass will be a popular choice for this hurdles bow.

He represents champion trainer Paul Nicholls and had some good bumper form last season, winning twice. After a summer wind operation, he has got solid claims.

HAZARD COLLONGES, by contrast, was last to finish in an all-weather bumper at Lingfield in February despite being sent off favourite.

The £42k purchase has been off since and Alan King will hope he performs better on turf and upped in distance.

His pedigree suggests this longer journey will be a plus and he's worth another chance under Daryl Jacob.

LiveScore selection: Hazard Collonges

2.30pm - Cazoo Novices' Handicap Chase (3m2f)

Last year's winning trainer Rebecca Curtis saddles chasing newcomer Pennyforapound here and he is one to note in the market but HUNTSMANS JOG has the form in the book.

The Milan gelding was a strong stayer over hurdles last season and he reappeared with a good second over fences at this track earlier in the month over just shy of three miles.

He put up a good battle in defeat and the race has already thrown up a few subsequent winners.

Fergal O'Brien's challenger should relish this extra distance.

LiveScore selection: Huntsmans Jog

3.05pm - Black And White Racing Club On Tour Handicap Hurdle (2m7½f)

MOON KING was useful on the Flat for Ralph Beckett and made a promising start in this code last season, winning a Musselburgh maiden hurdle over 2m4f in December and adding an all-weather bumper at Newcastle in February over the same trip.

Charlie Longsdon steps him up in distance for his return/handicap bow and he looks sure to have more to offer in the months ahead.

4.15pm - Winning Post Bookmakers 35Years In Racing Novices' Limited Handicap Chase (2m7½f)

A heavy-ground bumper winner here in late 2019 for Ella Pickard, GETAROUND would win three times over hurdles last year for that same yard, including over 2m7f, and has since moved to Dan Skelton's team.

He underwent a wind operation since last sighted at Carlisle 317 days ago and is likely to be well schooled ahead of this first chasing experience in the public domain.

He could be up to the challenge.

LiveScore selection: Getaround

4.50pm - National Federation Of Roofing Contractors Handicap Hurdle (2m3½f)

OPINE had a couple of runner-up finishes over hurdles in the autumn of 2020 after relocating to Jonjo O'Neill but, in truth, his hopes were somewhat hindered by a lack of fluency at the obstacles.

He was well held in two spring outings last season before a four-race winless sequence on the Flat this summer.

He returned from a short break with a staying on third at Exeter this month over shorter and his hurdling was much more reliable there.

If he builds on that promise back up in trip, this could well be his breakthrough.

LiveScore selection: Opine.
