Chepstow is our focus for Monday's action

Chepstow is one of three jump meetings taking place on Monday in what is a busy start to the week. The Welsh racecourse host an eight-race card which begins at 12.30pm.

The official going into the meeting is described as 'Soft'.

Here are our five horses to follow.

12.30pm - Cazoo Novices' Hurdle (2m)

The only previous winner in the opening race of the card is MAYHEM MIA as she prevailed twice last season in bumpers.

Her sole appearance over hurdles so far came in Listed company where she produced a respectable performance.

Chris Honour's runner is taking a step down in class in this novice hurdle and she should break her maiden over obstacles at the second attempt.

1.30pm - Vickers.Bet Online Maiden Hurdle (2m3½f)

EVERYTHING'SONTICK made his hurdles debut over this C&D back in November and he hit the frame in that 16-runner contest, coming home in third place.

The winner of that race has come out and prevailed again since, while the horse which was behind him in fourth is no longer a maiden.

The five-year-old was plugging on strongly at the finish at this course earlier this season and is likely to come on for that run, and any improvement may be enough to come out on top this time.

2pm - Join The Vickers.Bet Club Novices' Limited Handicap Chase (2m3½f)

There are just four runners for this class three handicap chase, but it is a fascinating race.

The chaser with arguably the brightest future is FRENCHY DU LARGE. That is based on an impressive performance at Uttoxeter (2m4f) last month where he scored by five lengths.

The handicapper has put Venetia Williams' runner up 9lb in the ratings, but it may not be enough to stop him from successfully following up.

He can take a step towards bigger prizes later in the campaign with a win here.

Bellatrixsa is looking for her third win over hurdles

Since arriving at Venetia Williams' yard, BELLATRIXSA has won two of her four races over hurdles.

The versatile mare was successful in a 2m contest and then scored over the further trip of 2m5f.

Her last appearance came on the Flat on the AW at Newcastle where she finished down the field in the extended 2m race.

However, the five-year-old remains unexposed in National Hunt racing.

She has proved her stamina so a return to this sort of distance is likely to be appreciated by the mare.

3.10pm - Dunraven Windows Mares' Handicap Chase (2m7½f)

BARDEN BELLA recorded a third success over fences earlier this month at Fakenham (2m5f).

She travelled strongly throughout that race, and despite a mistake at the penultimate fence, she was eight lengths clear of her rivals at the finish.

This latest mark of 87 is a career high, however, she can defy it on this step up in distance.

She will also benefit again from Jack Tudor taking 3lb off her back.

LiveScore selection: Barden Bella
