Our focus is on Ascot's fantastic seven-race card on Friday

There is some high-class racing at Ascot on Friday and there could be a star in the making taking to the turf.

The going is described as 'Good To Soft', 'Good' in places and we have picked five horses for you to follow.

12.20pm - Ascot Shop "National Hunt" Maiden Hurdle (2m3½f)

Bumper winner DOCTOR KEN is set for his second appearance over hurdles in the opener to this card.

He hit the frame on his debut over hurdles at Aintree last month in a race won by Gelino Bello.

The Aintree winner has since finished a close second in a Grade Two contest so that form has been franked. Expect to see Olly Murphy's gelding step up on his second outing of the season.

The distance and ground will not be a problem for him. This looks likea good opportunity for the five-year-old.

LiveScore selection: Doctor Ken

12.55pm - Windsor Horse Rangers Novices' Limited Handicap Chase (2m3f)

With five wins from eight starts, FAIVOIR had an excellent record over hurdles.

He had made a decent start to his chasing career as he was victorious at Uttoxeter (2m), but he was unable to successfully follow up at Cheltenham (2m4f) on his latest outing.

Dan Skelton's gelding has just three other rivals to beat here.

This assignment does not look as tough as the one he faced at Cheltenham, so he should be able to concede weight all around without any issues.

LiveScore selection: Faivoir

1.30pm - Ascot Fan Pass "Introductory Hurdle" (1m7½f)

Go Dante has shown promising form and will be looking for Ascot glory on Friday

GO DANTE won a bumper at Wincanton (1m7½f) last season on what was his sole start in the campaign.

He made an impressive debut over hurdles at Bangor (2m½f) last month, blowing the field away by 18 lengths.

This race was won by Metier 12 months ago. Olly Murphy's runner may also be set for Graded action if he can pass this latest test with ease once again.

LiveScore selection: Go Dante

2.05pm - Events At Ascot Handicap Chase (2m5f)

When he prevailed on his chase debut at Huntingdon (2m4f) by 13 lengths, it looked as though GUY was going to go on to bigger things later that season.

Unfortunately for his connections, he was unable to add to his tally in three attempts.

Nigel Twiston-Davies's chaser finished second on his return to action at Market Rasen (2m5½f) last month. He is taking a big drop down in trip in this race.

It may be exactly what he needs. He will have an excellent chance off this rock bottom weight.

LiveScore selection: Guy

2.40pm - Garden For All Seasons Handicap Hurdle (1m7½f)

CAPTAIN MORGS scored over this C&D in the early stages of last season.

He has produced a couple of decent outings since then and also featured in a Grade Three contest back in March.

The Seven Barrows runner was third of 12 at Cheltenham (2m4f) on his seasonal appearance. If he can step up on from that performance, he will be in with a big chance here.

LiveScore selection: Captain Morgs
