Haggas hoping for rain at Coral-Eclipse

Trainer William Haggas says he hopes there will be rain at Sandown on Saturday, when Addeybb runs in the Coral-Eclipse.

The seven-year-old is set for his first run in the UK since returning from a successful stint in Australia. A second-place finish at Rosehill was followed by a victory at Randwick in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

Upon his return to the UK, he was due to enter the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot, but was withdrawn by the Newmarket handler due to the ground being too fast. Haggas now says he will run whatever the conditions, but is hoping for rain.

"He's fine and he's ready to race. We've had this in mind since he got back from Australia so we're pleased to be there," Haggas told Sky Sports Racing.

"He needs a run and my forecast says there is a chance we'll get some rain on Friday and Saturday. What will be, will be."

Trueshan set for Goodwood Cup

The Goodwood Cup will be Trueshan's next destination after pleasing trainer Alan King with his performance at Newcastle last week.

The French-born five-year-old finished sixth out of 20 runners in the Northumberland Plate Handicap.

Now, the winner of the Long Distance Cup at Ascot last year is aiming to repeat that success at Goodwood, where he is likely to be up against Ascot veterans Stradivarius and Subjectivist

"I was happy with the run. He was beaten by less than four lengths and has been absolutely fine since," said the Barbury Castle handler.

"He'll have a quiet week and then we'll train him for Goodwood and see what the ground is like."

Choices aplenty for Flotus

Flotus could run at either Newmarket or Ascot next as she aims to bounce back from her disappointing showing at Royal Ascot.

The two-year-old made a wonderful impression on her racecourse debut at Goodwood in May, winning the Maiden Fillies' Stakes.

Saddled by Frankie Dettori, she was expected to perform well in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot earlier this month.

However, she laboured to a 13th place finish with Andrew Balding's Sandrine crossing the line first.

Now, trainer Ed Crisford is pondering his options for her next run and says the conditions did not suit the Starspangledbanner filly.

"That ground was just too heavy for her," he said.

"We'll either go to Newmarket for the Duchess of Cambridge or wait for the Group Three at Ascot (Princess Margaret Stakes), depending on how she is."

Mojo Star set for St Leger chance

Trainer Richard Hannon is hoping it will be third time lucky for Mojo Star as he prepares to enter the Sea The Stars colt in the St Leger at Doncaster.

The three-year-old finished second in his first three starts including an impressive display in the Epsom Derby earlier this month.

He tackled the Irish equivalent at Curragh on Saturday but struggled and only managed fifth. Now, Hannon is hopeful his charger can bid for Group One glory at Doncaster.

"He's come back fine. He's just been out in the pen since and had a trot yesterday and today," he said.

"He's none the worse for it and we'll have a chat to connections about where we go from here."
