- Liverpool have won 12 of their last 14 home Premier League matches
- Brentford have failed to score in only one of their 11 league games this season
- Recommended bet: Liverpool Win and Both Teams to Score at 5/4

Liverpool have had a couple of setbacks in the last week, dropping points in a 1-1 draw away to Luton in the Premier League, before Thursday's surprise 3-2 Europa League defeat at Toulouse.

Jurgen Klopp's men should be looking forward to their return to Anfield, where they have won all five of their league fixtures this season by at least a two-goal margin.

However, visitors Brentford relish their battles with the top clubs, completing a league double over champions Manchester City last season, beating Liverpool 3-1 at the Community Stadium in January, and beating Chelsea 2-0 in their most recent away fixture.

Team news

Liverpool have issues in midfield as Alexis Mac Allister is suspended and Ryan Gravenberch (knee) is a doubt.

Japan international Wataru Endo is set to deputise for Mac Allister, while centre-back Virgil van Dijk should return after missing the defeat in Toulouse.

The Bees have a doubt over goalkeeper Mark Flekken, so Thomas Strakosha could start.

Thomas Frank is also missing Aaron Hickey, Rico Henry, Kevin Schade, Josh Dasilva, Mikkel Damsgaard, Shandon Baptiste and Ivan Toney, while forward Keane Lewis-Potter will be assessed.

The stats

Liverpool have won 12 of their last 14 home Premier League matches and Mohamed Salah has scored in 13 of the Reds' last 14 league games at Anfield.

Both teams have scored in 10 of Liverpool's last 13 matches in all competitions.

Brentford have won their last three Premier League games and have scored the first goal in their last five matches.

Brentford have failed to score in only one of their 11 league games this season.

Prediction

Brentford may be scenting an upset as they arrive at Anfield after impressive Premier League wins over Burnley, Chelsea and West Ham.

The Bees competed well in May's 1-0 defeat away to Liverpool, but could not hit back after conceding an early Salah goal and manager Frank must cope without a long list of injury absentees.

Brentford still pose an attacking threat against a side who have suffered disappointing results at Luton and Toulouse and who are missing the suspended Mac Allister for a first league game since his summer move from Brighton.

However, Jurgen Klopp's men are irresistible at Anfield, winning their first five league matches of 2023-24 by an aggregate score of 14-2, and they can come out on top in an entertaining contest.
