Juventus have confirmed that they have relieved Igor Tudor of his duties as head coach.
Tudor succeeded Thiago Motta for the Old Lady back in March and having guided the club to a Champions League finish, was handed a three-year contract extension.
However, the Croat was sacked on Monday after a 1-0 loss at Lazio on Sunday night.
Toma Basic’s first half opener was enough to separate the two sides in the capital in a result that extended Juventus’ winless run to eight matches, while they have failed to score in their last four.
Juventus sack Tudor
“Juventus Football Club announces that it has today relieved Igor Tudor of his duties as head coach of the Men's First Team, along with his staff consisting of Ivan Javorcic, Tomislav Rogic and Riccardo Ragnacci,” a statement read on the club’s official website.
“The Club also announces that it has temporarily entrusted the Men's First Team to Massimo Brambilla, who will be on the bench for the Juventus-Udinese match on Wednesday evening.
“The Club thanks Igor Tudor and his entire staff for their professionalism and dedication over the past few months and wishes them all the best for their future careers.”
After Sunday’s defeat to Lazio, Tudor called for unity, saying: “It's a tough and difficult time, and we're all responsible. We need to stay united and work harder together.
“We prepared for the game well, but we're still missing something: we need to get it right and we can't make mistakes at the back. Instead, there are always some mistakes and we lose games.”
'Everyone is responsible'
And on speculation surrounding his future, he replied: “I'm not thinking about myself. I see everyone asking me these questions, but I'm not thinking about myself. I live in the present and I don't care about the future.
“I'm clear-headed and aware of the problems that exist. Steps backward? No, no, my friend: steps can only be taken forward. We feel terrible, but we need to stick together and pull together.
“Everyone is responsible, we're trying to do better, and this is a time like this, but we'll play immediately in two days, and with a win we can get going again.”
After the midweek welcome of Udinese, Juventus face Cremonese this weekend before returning to Champions League action with the welcome of Sporting CP next week.
Juventus’ final game before the international break is the welcome of Turin rivals of Torino as they look to get their season back on track.
