Team news
George Edmundson is still recovering from a hamstring injury and remains sidelined for Boro, while Kaly Sene is pushing for a return to the starting line-up.
Having played at Wednesday in midweek, manager Rob Edwards may look to freshen things up with one or two changes.
Wrexham will be without Callum Doyle after he was sent off against Oxford.
The Welsh side will assess Ben Sheaf, Ollie Rathbone and Elliot Lee with all three suffering minor injuries. Sheaf missed the win over Oxford with a groin issue, Rathbone has a thigh complaint and Lee has a knee problem.
The stats
This is the first ever league meeting between Middlesbrough and Wrexham – Boro last faced a side for the first time back in January 2021 when they beat Wycombe 3-1.
Wrexham and Boro last played in December 1999 in the FA Cup, with the Welsh side winning 2-1 thanks to goals from Robin Gibson and Darren Ferguson.
The Teessiders have won eight of their last 11 home league matches, with their only defeat in this run coming against last season's champions Leeds in April.
After losing their last away league game 1-0 to Stoke, Wrexham will be looking to avoid recording consecutive defeats on the road for just the third time since returning to the EFL in 2023.

Prediction
Middlesbrough have enjoyed a strong start to the season under new manager Edwards, winning seven of 11 league games and losing only once.
Wrexham, meanwhile, have shown they can compete at this level after returning to the second tier for the first time since 1982.
However, a trip to Teesside is one of the tougher assignments in the Championship and Phil Parkinson’s side would do well to take a point back to North Wales.
Boro have won their last two fixtures having bounced back swiftly from a first league defeat of the season down at Portsmouth and will be confident they can continue the winning run with home advantage on Saturday.
It will be interesting to see how many the hosts manage to score as Wrexham have improved defensively, conceding no more than one goal in their last six fixtures, having previously let in two or more in seven of the previous eight games.
This likely will not be a goal fest, but expect the home side to extend their winning run.
