Graham Alexander's Bradford City take on Rotherham in League One on Tuesday, 24 February
  • Can Bradford get their playoff push back on track when they host poor travellers Rotherham in League One?

  • Two of League One’s bottom three outfits face off at Sixfields Stadium when Northampton take on Port Vale.

  • In-form Shrewsbury are targeting a sensational fifth successive win when they travel to take on an out-of-sorts Salford in League Two.

Away from the glitz and glamour of the Champions League, there is a smattering of fixtures to look forward from League One and League Two in England’s lower divisions on Tuesday 24 February.

There are five matches lined up, with three games on the slate from League One, including the basement battle between Northampton and Port Vale, plus another two running alongside those from League Two.

We’ve got predictions for all five games below, starting with the clash between Bradford and Rotherham from the third tier.

Bradford vs Rotherham (League One - 19:45 pm)

Bradford never really got going in Saturday’s 3-1 loss at AFC Wimbledon, with Stephen Humphrys’s late consolation against the Dons one of only three efforts on target during a lacklustre showing from the Bantams.

However, back at the University of Bradford Stadium, Graham Alexander’s troops will expect better. Bradford have lost only two of their 16 League One assignments at that venue this season, while Tuesday’s visitors, Rotherham, have the division’s worst away record.

Score prediction: Bradford 2-0 Rotherham

Burton vs Stockport County (League One 19:45 pm)

An injury-time equalizer from Fábio Tavares earned Burton a share of the spoils at Luton on Saturday, pushing Albion’s unbeaten surge in League One to three games, though the relegation candidates’ streak could be under threat on Tuesday.

Stockport’s spirits were buoyed by a pair of late goals in Saturday’s 4-2 win over Wigan and County have now lost just once in eight League One fixtures since early January. With leading marksman Kyle Wooten back on the goal trail (2 vs Wigan), Stockport could have the firepower to edge this one.

Score prediction: Burton 1-2 Stockport County

Northampton vs Port Vale (League One - 19:45 pm)

Two of the division’s current bottom three face off at Sixfields Stadium on Tuesday when Northampton (22nd) host Port Vale (24th) in a game that could shake up the relegation battle in League One.

Port Vale are 11 points behind the Cobblers, but have three games in hand on their opponents, so a positive result could put the pressure on. The Valiants have shown spirit of late, losing only two of their last five matches, while Northampton are likely to be nervous following their 2-1 loss at home to another relegation contender, Leyton Orient, on Saturday. Vale could leave the East Midlands with at least a point here.

Score prediction: Northampton 1-1 Port Vale

Accrington Stanley vs Barnet (League Two - 19:45 pm)

13th meets 12th on Tuesday evening when Accrington collide with Barnet in an encounter between two League Two outfits with designs on a late playoff charge.

The Accies conceded after just a minute and were two down by the 48th when they lost 2-0 at home to Shrewsbury on Saturday, though they won four out of five fixtures at the Crown Ground before that. Barnet were hit for four by Colchester last time out (1-4), and softened by that hammering, they could struggle again.

Score prediction: Accrington Stanley 2-1Barnet

Salford vs Shrewsbury (League Two - 19:45 pm)

Salford boss Karl Robinson penned new contract terms just a week ago, however, his City side continue to slump. The Ammies’ 3-2 defeat at Cheltenham on Saturday was their fourth loss in five games, and their League Two playoff pursuit is starting to look shaky.

Shrewsbury meanwhile, have hit a rich vein of form, winning four games in a row, while taking the big scalps of Swindon and Notts County along the way. Iwan Morgan, who arrived on loan from Brentford in January, has lifted Salop’s levels in attack and they could cause another shock at the Peninsula Stadium.

Score prediction: Salford 2-3 Shrewsbury
