Brentford midfielder Mathias Jensen has signed a new contract at the club until the end of the 2025-26 season.

Michael Appleton has been relieved of his duties as Blackpool manager after a short second stint in charge of the Championship club.

A temporary concussion substitute trial in the Premier League next season has been rejected by the game’s lawmakers.

A meeting between the International Football Association Board met to discuss the possibility of a trial but could not come to a unanimous decision.

FA chief Mark Bullingham said: "There were very strong and very different views in the room, and we didn’t reach a consensus.

"I tabled it a year ago, I tabled it again today. There are different points of view and they all have merit.

"I’m probably not the best person to give you both sides of the argument, but there won’t be IFAB support for a trial right now."

Liverpool and Colombia winger Luis Diaz has appointed international agency NVA SEG to manage his off-field activities.

The Football Association of Wales has announced an agreement to provide equal pay for both the men's and women's teams.

The landmark scheme will cover up to and until the 2026 World Cup and 2027 Women's World Cup.

Both teams issued a joint statement on the breakthrough, saying: "Together Stronger has been the mantra across the Cymru national teams for us all, both on and off the pitch as we look to put Wales on the world stage.

"As part of the FAW’s strive towards equality, we are now proud to announce that together, our men’s and women’s teams have agreed to an equal pay structure for future international matches.

"We hope that this will allow future generations of boys and girls to see that there is equality across Welsh international football, which is important for society as a whole."

"With this agreement in place, we will now look ahead to the Euro 2024 and 2025 qualifying campaigns, as we aim to see further success across both our senior teams in the near future."

Erik ten Hag has admitted he now fully trusts his players after their strong run of form in recent weeks.

"We started the second half badly, a fantastic goal from their point of view, but defensively we could do better. But we responded very quickly which was important.

"We had to defend well at times, which you’re always going to have to do when the opposition goes direct.

"But I’m delighted to win, especially so late on. And I’m delighted for the lad [Adebayo], because he’s worked so hard in the last couple of games in particular."
