- Sam Ryder to win and each-way

After successfully tipping up Alex Noren each-way at last week's Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, James Mason now turns his attention to the PGA Tour's Farmers Insurance Open and he is predicting a solid outing for former world number one Justin Rose.

Running from Wednesday to Saturday, the Farmers Insurance Open is one of the most-anticipated events on the US calendar given the fact it is played at the famous Torrey Pines, host of the US Open in 2008 and 2021.

The first two rounds will be split over the South Course and the North Course, before the halfway cut is then made and the remaining 36 holes are played solely on the South Course.

American Luke List broke his PGA Tour duck last year when beating Will Zalatoris in a play-off and he is 100/1 with LiveScore Bet to become the first player to successfully defend the crown since Tiger Woods won four in a row from 2005-2008.

Jon Rahm claimed the spoils in 2017 before then triumphing on the same course at the 2021 US Open and he arrives in fine fettle following his victory at last week's The American Express. He can be backed at 9/2 to win again with LiveScore Bet.

Tony Finau, Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele and Collin Morikawa are also teeing it up this week, but while the quartet make some appeal in the outright betting, there looks to be more value further down the market.

Rose returning to form

It has been a difficult couple of years for Englishman Rose, as injuries and lack of form have hampered him on both sides of the pond, but there have been some positive showings over the last few months and another strong outing could be on the cards.

The 42-yeard-old finished T26 at The American Express last week, finishing with a brilliant seven-under-par 65, and he will be hoping to keep that momentum going at an event he has had previous success at.

Rose recorded fourth and eighth-place finishes at this event in 2017 and 2018 before he then took the title in 2019, holding off Adam Scott by two strokes in what is his most recent worldwide victory.

The former world number one was also sixth 12 months ago, reaffirming his love for this tournament, and the fact the Ryder Cup takes place later this year will provide a further incentive to start putting up some solid results.

Rose has looked comfortable on the greens so far this season, ranking 20th in strokes gained: putting, while he is 12th in driving accuracy, 11th in birdie average and boasts a 72.22 greens in regulation percentage.

Priced up at 50/1 with LiveScore Bet, who are paying five places at a quarter of the odds, the Englishman is worth an each-way bet.

Australian enjoying resurgence

Jason Day is another player that has struggled for consistency over the past couple of years and his most recent PGA Tour victory came back in 2018 at the Wells Fargo Championship.

However, the Australian is beginning to find his rhythm again and his form over the last couple of months has been positive, with last week's T18 at The American Express his third top-20 finish from his last five starts.

The former world number one is a two-time winner of the Farmers Insurance Open, in 2015 and 2018, while he also has finishes of second (2017), third (2022), fifth (2019) and ninth (2013).

Day's approach play has been particularly impressive this season, he ranks 10th in strokes gained: approach-the-green, and this statistic bodes well given the fact last year's winner ranked fourth in this category.

At 22/1 with LiveScore Bet, the 35-year-old is hard to ignore and gets the nod as one of our selections.

Ryder makes appeal

At bigger odds of 300/1 with LiveScore Bet, Sam Ryder may be worth an each-way bet due to the fact he ranks 20th in strokes gained: approach-the-green and has previous in this event.

The American was 10th here in 2021 - his best result in five attempts - and his tied-eighth finish at the World Wide Technology Championship at Mayakoba in November last year shows he is dangerous when on song.
