Royal Ascot's five-day meeting kicks off on Tuesday!

No messing around as there are three Group 1 races on the first afternoon and it's a seven-race Royal Ascot dish from 2:30pm through until 6.10pm.

We'll have five to follow on each day of Royal Ascot right through until Saturday, starting with Tuesday's quintet.

LiveScore Five to Follow at Royal Ascot on Tuesday

3.05pm - Coventry Stakes (Group 2, 6f)

A field of 17 declared for the opening 2YO race of the meeting and amongst them is Wesley Ward's filly KAUFYMAKER - all alone in her quest to thwart the colts. She impressed on her debut at Keeneland (4½f, dirt) in April and her American trainer - no stranger to Royal Ascot winners - has touted her as possibly his best chance of the week.

She has worked well on grass and the relaxed filly should get the 6f trip, says Ward. In that case, she may be hard to topple. Ebro River, Gisburn, Dhabab and The Acropolis lead the opposition for some powerhouse UK/Irish yards.

LiveScore Selection: Kaufymaker

3.40pm - King's Stand Stakes (Group 1, 5f)

BATTAASH laid to rest talk of an 'Ascot hoodoo' when he won the King's Stand in good style last summer, part of a perfect three-race sequence in 2020. Charlie Hills' speedster is very much the one to beat again despite the trainer's admittance of an interrupted preparation.

His bullet-like speed may unsettle main rival Winter Power, given she made all last time at York. July Cup winner Oxted tackles 5f for the first time, while Andrew Balding's King's Lynn could run a big race on his first foray into Group 1 waters.

LiveScore Selection: Battaash

4.20pm - St James's Palace Stakes (Group 1, 1m)

Newmarket's 2000 Guineas hero Poetic Flare re-engages some of those he defeated that day and - in what is going to be his fourth Group 1 since the start of May - perhaps Jim Bolger's Classic winner is going to prove vulnerable.

Chindit and BATTLEGROUND appeared all at ease on the Rowley Mile undulations and last year's Chesham winner may now bounce back for Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore returned to Ascot. The War Front colt can be a big presence in this race; one his trainer has landed eight times since 2000.

LiveScore Selection: Battleground

5pm - Ascot Stakes (Handicap, 2m4f)

Mark Johnston will be eyeing Ascot success on Tuesday
Mark Johnston will be eyeing Ascot success on Tuesday

Look out for M C Muldoon and Rayapour as Willie Mullins attempts to plunder this contest for a fourth time. They are big players but perhaps one that's under the radar in comparison is TRUMPET MAN for Mark Johnston.

He didn't get the clearest of runs in last month's Chester Cup and was really going well at the finish. This longer trip could prove to be to his liking and he can present a big threat under Franny Norton in that scenario.

LiveScore Selection: Trumpet Man

6.10pm - Copper Horse Stakes (Handicap, 1m6f)

Lots of chances in the finale on day one - Saldier, On To Victory, Brilliant Light and Global Storm amongst them - but Kevin Ryan will hope this increased distance can bring about another bit of improvement from THRONE HALL.

The Kingman gelding made a winning reappearance at Doncaster (1m2f, good) and has since made the frame in two starts at a mile-and-a-half. He could have more to offer if staying this extra two furlongs.

LiveScore Selection: Throne Hall
