- Rotherham have lost their last five away matches
- Cardiff have won four of their last five Championship games
- Recommended bet: Cardiff to win to nil
Cardiff City are enjoying an excellent start to the Championship season and there is talk of a potential play-off push after a string of good results, including last week’s 1-0 win at Sunderland.
On Saturday they entertain poor travellers Rotherham United, who are looking for their second victory in what looks like it could be another difficult season in the second tier.
Team news
Cardiff will head into battle shorn of the services of star midfielder Aaron Ramsey, who suffered a knee injury in training and has been ruled out for at least three weeks.
Bluebirds manager Erol Bulut has confirmed that Josh Bowler and Callum O’Dowda will also be missing, but several changes are expected from the team who lost 5-2 at Blackburn Rovers in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
Rotherham will be without midfielder Jamie Lindsay, who is continuing to recover from an Achilles injury, while Sean Morrison is not quite ready after recovering from a calf injury.
The stats
Rotherham have lost their last five away matches and the Millers are without an away win in the league since November 2022.
Rotherham have not scored in six of their last nine league away games.
Cardiff have won four of their last five Championship matches
Six of Cardiff’s last eight league games have featured at least three goals.

Prediction
Cardiff had a poor campaign as they finished 21st in the Championship last term, but their supporters are beginning to think they could have a good season after a string of decent results.
New manager Erol Bulut appears to be hopeful too as he fielded a second-string outfit in the cup at Blackburn in midweek and his team should be eager for action when Rotherham head to South Wales on Saturday.
And they have been playing well, posting a 2-0 derby success over Swansea and then they were by far the better team in a 3-2 success over Coventry.
A 1-0 win at Sunderland last week was probably their best result of the campaign and the Bluebirds should have far too much for struggling Rotherham.
The Millers beat Norwich on their own patch, but their away form has been poor and they have rarely found the net on their recent travels.
Cardiff are 7/10 to win the match, but the best course of action is to back them to get the job done without conceding.
